Ambient music?

You could try Jango
http://www.jango.com

Program in all your favourite artists and it will play them and others of a similar genre.
Do put your favorite artists in. I just started out with Uakti, and it let it go from there. {It took 5 songs before it wanted to start playing Brittney Spears! :eek: I added Enigma, The Chemical Brothers, The Crystal Method, Sigur Ros, Moby, Kreftwerk, David Bowie, Kitaro, The Pixies, Granddaddy, and Death Cab for Cutie in an effort to keep it from going back to Brittney! We'll see how long it takes this time...}

Maybe if you put Britney in, it will have to take you somewhere else! :p
(maybe to Uakti...)

You have the option of "never play again", "play sometimes" and "play often". This trains it to some degree and the incidence of unwanted stuff grows less. The more you seem to rate in this method the better it seems to get.

趁熱打鐵

You might also like Deep Forest, Tangerine Dream, and Vas.

{I started a new station at Tango, and began with Spyro Gyra instead of Uakti. Now they're trying to feed me some bad jazz instead of Britney and M2M. :p }

Tangerine Dream!

Stratosfear was a bit heavy and ominous, but Phaedra was light enough to consider as ambient.

Personal fave was (and still is) the Sorceror soundtrack. I occasionally hear snippets on radio adverts still, after 30 years it still rocks, but again in my opinion just a bit heavy for ambient.

My former physical therapist used to play "Reiki: The Light Touch" (CD) by Merlin's Magic (Artist), and I found it quite enjoyable for background music.

Shadowfax is another group I've heard, Spiro Gyra and Kitaro get second votes from me, and I would include Vangelis (particularly "Spiral"). Maybe just a tad outside of what you are looking for, but Rick Wakeman "Journey to the Center of the Earth" and "King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table," as well as any Tomita album (Firebird Suite and Pictures at an Exhibition are faves of mine) might be worth considering. Early Alan Parsons Project such as "Tales of Mystery and Imagination" are good to listen to while *not* listening. Oh, almost forgot Yanni.

never heard of ambient music...but I've been clicking...

Reminds me of YES, or Cirque de Soleil stuff, is YES ambient?

!!! wow !!! again......
Bet you never made love on the morning after dropping an eccy with her for first time either ;)

I just found Chris Spheeris on jango.com. :D (Too bad they only have three of his songs. I wish they had more.) I just might have to venture out in this messy snow tomorrow to find some of his CD's. :eek:
