Hi everybody,

I'd like to wish all members of Interfaith a very Happy Christmas and a prosperous and fulfilling New Year!
I hope you all achieve what you want in the coming year of 2009.

*the IO :kitty: choir, the ferret dance troupe and the lunamoth orchestra enter stage right, a handsome silver "classic" tabby and a cute little calico moving a little bit in front of the rest. They "tune up" then the tabby breaks into a heartrending rendition of Amazing Grace, after which the calico breaks into a heartbreaking rendition of Silent Night. Tears cloud up the vision of some Interfaith.org members as the last note drifts off and the :kitty:s pause (paws?) for a few moments along with everybody else before exiting stage right, a few giving the calico a congratulatory swipe of the tongue for a job well done on her first solo*

The IO :kitty: choir just performed in memory of the ones who are celebrating the season "over there".

Indeed Phyllis, Christmas for many of us is a time to celebrate with loved ones present and past. Happy holidays to all. earl

And the New Year any traditions??

For me it used to be PARTY PARTY PARTY. Up drinkin, tokin, chasin, doin, rasin, started at dinner and didn't stop...every hour it was New Years someplace and we'd CELEBRATE...every hour after midnight it was New Years someplace and we'd hit it....sometimes till dawn...

Before marriage anythin goes, after marriage did the same, just knew ahead of time for sure who I was headin home with.

About ten years ago I found out there was folks meeting at church. I found out these folks got together celebrated spiritually (this is the lounge I know, just discussing tradition)

So anyway, burning bowl, writing down things, negative traits we want to get rid of and setting fire to them...up in smoke. And then after service we'd get together and exchange out our daytimers, remove the old pages, check for any updates, add the new pages, review goals and achievements for the past year and plan goals for the next year.

Today with PDA's not as much time needs to be spent sorting thru and recopying, so we congratulate and encourage each other...and then play games...

Less loss of brain cells, less loss of inhibitions, no hangovers or regrets the next day...

Feeling pumped and looking sharp!!! And Can't wait to get my presents.... I mean, can't wait to see my family's faces when they get to open their presents... ¬.¬

Cooking up a duck for din dins... Making a nice Grand Marnier orance sauce to finish it off.....

Old me? Well I always reflect back this time of year to how the past year has been. I think of where I could have done things better and will strive to make improvements in the new year.
I have a big career decision to make in 2009 so will be mulling that over. Spiritually I have come a long way this year, got quite a few things that i'm still digesting, but hey there's no rush!
Get to the gym more in the new year! Be more selective on what I eat, get better on the guitar, more tatooing at some point.
I'm sure there are other things that I can't think of at the moment.
 
Roger that! I *could* do much the same, but I get the privilege of going to work instead.

at least I'm not shoveling snow....

After going to the grocery store to get some general stuff, I make a large pot of vegetarian hopping john for later and put the ginger ale/ginger beer/sparkling fruit juice in the fridge to chill. After that, I finish off the cake I make for my parents' anniversary (they were married in 1951, but my father died before their 50th wedding anniversary died a year or two later.)

I "surf" and occasionally post something on a few boards I belong to, then, as midnight approaches, I go get the videos to both ABBA's Happy New Year and to this one old comedy sketch Dinner for One (since the videos to Hellsing have been removed due to licensing. . .)

Then, at about 11:59 pm, I pour a glass of the chilled drink and nosh on the hopping john until 12:01 (at least, but often I'll keep eating it until it's gone) and play the videos.

I know, I know. Dullsville. *heads for Mope Corner, :kitty: in tow*
