it is a big deal. if you send the message that it is ok for teens to do child porn, then they will think it is ok to do child porn as an adult. there is no loophole here as some kids might think. the only thing they have going for them is probabtion if no other record. if the child already has a record and is a deviant, they will do time.

my best friends daughter thought she was entitled to drink and drive at 16. she was prosecuted and the judge sentenced the child to
a) not being allowed to drive on her own until she is 18 with 2 years probation
b) the car her dad bought her was taken out of her name, so ordered by the court.

There are plenty of loopholes, maybe not in your system, but in the world in general. We can try to close them but its futile. In fact IMO, I think you`d be encouraging them to rebel, thus I would never put you in charge of my surroundings.

And you and other adults come around like its the end of the world. When in fact you look at the adults track records of pasts, and they have no right to place restriction on children.

no one in my family has a record like you suggest. trying to insult me as a teenager for not doing the things that are against the law is a low blow.
