Hi everyone

Sorry I haven't been around much, way too much work and now this.

After months of contemplating it I have finally started my new blog about Islam.

The blog posts will be translated into arabic as well, to help facilitate discussions and try to combat some of the misconceptions from both sides.

I would like to have an interfaith section of the blog, where we discuss a given topic from our own faiths perspective and try to poinbt to the similarities in our beliefs rather than always concentrating on the differences.

I will only be co-ordinating this section of the blog and the Muslim perspective will be given by a number of Arab Muslims I have roped in.

I am going to try to get away from this finger pointing "your religion says xyz and you believe abc".

We don't have to have group hugs and sing *** bye yah but I would like opinions from the horses mouth and no "we're right and you lot are all going to hell" talk.

If you would be interested in seeing the blog and giving a little time to this project, or know anyone from your faith that may help please will you let me know.

Thank you.

Erm can I change that to the elphant mouth Tao LOL :p

Good to 'see' you, how's life?

Here you go, only made 3 posts so far but only started it last night.

Now if youi are interested in an interfaith liberal christian perspective I'd be glad to participate, but as many will tell you none of us, especially me can represent all of Christianity

Sally! I'm so glad to see you around!

Of course, I will want to read your blog. :)

I'd be happy to give my Christian perspective, but it's liberal and (to some Christians) heretical, so I don't know if that would assist or not.

Thank you gang .. to be honest I would like liberal and conservative opinions. I want to show that not every Christian, Jew or Muslim believes the same things so pigeon holing people as a group is just silly and misguided.

Wow it feels so good to be back among friends :D

MW- neat posts on the blog. Are you looking for people to comment, or did you have particular posts in mind that you would be coordinating from an interfaith perspective?

Im a conservative christian.. let me know if you would like me to help. :)

Would love your help please Faithfulservant. Am currently writing up a couple of questions I would love to email out for answers. Soon as I am ready I will pm people for email addresses.

Thank you for your support, let's hope we can make a small difference in interfaith dialogue.

however, the blog will not take off unless you allow people to post comments freely and then take an active hand in moderating it.

YAY my first blog comments, thanks so much BB, sorry it took so long to answer, just trying to juglle time to fit this in at the moment but will get a routine going soon.

To be honest BB I wouldn't dare carry on where Sandmonkey left off, I may try something on the political side once I get back home for a while. Although ... I was really suprised, hubby bought a book here a couple of weeks ago and translated some of it for me ... it rips the pee out of the government, Mobarak the Muslim brotherhood .. well just about everyone. Was amazed it was published and is on bookshelves, perhaps a move in the right direction?

Hmmm, I am very new to blogger, I am a WP girl, so I thought I had set it up so anyone could comment but comments have to be moderated. If this is not the case please let me know so I can try to sort it.

Hi Path, I would love both, I really want to get discussion going on the comments but also want to look at a number of issues in terms of the three Abrahamic faiths.

Would you be interested in a Bahai perspective? I did half a degree in Christian theology (including Hebrew and OT studies), a masters' degree in Islamic studies, and I write on Bahai theology and the Bahai community. I have a blog at

I can relate to all 4 traditions (and I know something about Babism), but not on all topics. "Prophecy fulfilled" and the intricacies of mystical systems are not my thing; living the religious life in today's world, and dealing with its difficulties, do interest me.
