OK, so there will be alot of mixed reactions. It's a very serious subject, let's be honest.

Family Guy is in no way as good as South Park.... I do chuckle at Family Guy but it follows the same comedy line.... it has NO originality and the jokes are completely random!!!

Grrrrrrr!!!!! :p

LOL, OK, I'm telling on myself, but is this something like comparing the Flintstones with the Jetsons?

Or comparing Marianne and Ginger?

Sorry SP, but funny is funny. I'll get more laughs out of an episode of Family Guy than South Park.

And does it really matter if the jokes are random when it comes to shooting milk (okay... beer) out of your nose?

I think not.

Family guy is ****. Look at it and break it down..... It's just a chain of random bollocks... They start off on something and then "oh it's like the time I so and so'd" *flash effect, break to Peter Griffin doing something... "hilarious".*

South park is the freaking awesome... Family guy is toddler :/

I've never been able to watch a whole episode of either...course I never got into the simpsons...

give me back Ed Sullivan, Jimmy Durante, Smothers Brothers, Abbot and Costello, Laurel and Hardy....

........What about it?

*mutters something.. you had your time go out quietly/return from whence you came/never come back.... The name Matt Groening can be heard slightly a few times in his mutter.... but most of it is incohearent.*

Ah you want to bring in things of old... Well I'll bring in cartoons of old(for me at least) that are legends.... And even though I like South Park... It has nothing on these legends.... Where to begin....

I just can't cope sometimes with Family Guy's randomness....

As for amazing cartoons, 17th Angel got it spot on... they were awesome.... loved Care Bears (who are not from Satan :( ) andI loved Funhouse - are you talking about the one with Pat Sharpe? Amazing - loved it!!!!!!!!!!

17th angel that is the first time you've ever corrected me on anything!

Battle of the Planets (Gotchamon or something now)
Star Blazers
The Superfriends
Richie Rich
Speed Racer
Hanna-Barbara Cartoons
Transformers
Marine Boy
Bugs Bunny

Incidentally, have you seen the South Park episode where they totally rip it out of Family Guy? They even bring Bart Simpson in... lol... and an explanation as to how they come up with stupidly random jokes... teehee!!

Cant stand the humour of family guy, or south park. or futurama.

Love the classics, tho. already mentioned by 17th, and the looney tunes. Pepe Le pew etc. I think tho, my fav was of course Foghorn, Leghorn.

You do know the gal that voiced Olive Oyl also voiced Betty Boop, right?

What about Felix the Cat?

Tweetie and Foghorn were good, don't get me wrong, but no comparison with Wile E. Coyote and the Roadrunner. The only better were Claude the Cat and the puppy he *tried* to antagonize.

Bugs Bunny, the episode with the vampire! (Abracapokus!...Hokuscadabra!) LOL! I want to wet myself just thinking about it!

(I guess this stuff does belong in the OFC, it's too funny for these whippersnappers...)

Mel Blanc was incomparable, nobody has come close to the vocal talent he had.

Incidentally, the Flintstones were the first "adult" oriented cartoon on prime time television. Us kids didn't care, we watched anyway. Now, "adult" has an entirely different connotation attached.

Speaking of which, the OFC hereby lays claim to Fritz the Cat. And Heavy Metal. And Flesh Gordon. Definitely not your grandkids cartoons, :p

Has anyone seen that weird cartoon called Fat Cat Mendoza?? It's like this huge cat - the size of a small boy. Ridiculous.

My nephew watches CBeebies (a children's channel in Britain) and he loves Charlie and Lola. I would have like that when I was a kid... it's cute.

Also, for the American side, has anyone seen on Nickelodeon, Yo Gabba Gabba. I wouldn't have watched it if it weren't for Scott Mills on Radio 1. This weird monster thing....... seriously, I love it, but what the hell is going on with cartoons and kids programme?? Lol, like I know that the generation where I grew up wasn't exactly normal with Wizadora and Zap! but Yo Gabba Gabba and In The Night Garden are just weird.... am I the only one that thinks this?

Ignore the green slime bits inbetween.
