Not bad, kid. Now, can you handle the Luke 24:42 problem? HINT: try Jesus Seminar and JW/SDE answers.
However, the psychological and physical benefits of vegetarianism are independent of that, as is whether or not vegetarianism can be accepted as a Christian way of believing.
bhaktajan and I just had a go round on this very subject. Is that why god accepted Abel's offering of meat and refused Cain's offering of the earth?
Kinda makes ya go "hmm"

Okay, where does the Bible prohibit eating meat. Go ahead and point that out. I want the specific prohibition on eating meat quoted.
Don't weasel, show me the actual prohibition.
Jesus ate meat--the Gospels specifically mention Jesus eating the Passover meal.In genesis it clearly states that god only gave plants as food. That is when the human community was immortal. The only mention of meat occurs in the bible after the fall. Isnt the goal to get back to paradise and that includes a non animal diet?

You might want to check out this thread:The bible is funny thing. It has its own language and means things that people dont often understand. There is a lot of symbolism in it. There is a book called signs and symbols of the holy bible that is a big help in correct interpretation. Do you really think god calls for sacrafices that lead to death of a living thing to include human beings? The writers of the bible wrote it in such a way that if you do not reason it with a divine mind you come out with the opposing interpretation. Jesus is called the lamb of god. A holy sacrafice is meant to impart knowledge of the kingdom of heaven to the carnal mind to transform to the divine mind. It doesnt mean to actually kill a lamb or even more important jesus. The romans took a ancient holy symbol of the cross which means the union of body soul and spirit and did the opposite to separate the body soul and spirit. Even the nails were placed in places that are noted in advanced studies as points for that union and did the opposite to kill him. It is the same with mentions of animals in the bible as being a symbolic representation of a divine action that sounds like an unholy action. Genesis if very clear on what the diet is for human beings and it was plants. Doesnt the fact of only mentioning animals being consumed only occurs after the fall tell you something? The writers were very clever in their way of writing showing that only someone with a divine mind of a lot of study can correctly interpret the bible. It is the holy bible not the unholy bible but if you reason it with a carnal mind it will always come out with unholy actions.
I do not think meat eating causes wars. I simply think it is unhealthy. You might want to check out this thread:

Fair enough!I do not think meat eating causes wars. I simply think it is unhealthy.
I agree. Look at what they did to him for pointing out what mankind is doing wrong. No one likes to be told the way they are living is the wrong way and some people can get very nasty about it. It is sad that I have to live in a way contradictory to my beliefs just to fit in and keep my marriage and relationships with my own family and others intact. When you eat food it affects the body and I believe also the mind. A doctor once told me: " I will never argue with you over a vegan diet. It is healthier." I just wish that others would have respected my opinion and way of life of a non animal diet. Unfortunately that is not the case so in my heart I hold onto my beliefs but do not practice them.Fair enough!
Now, regarding what is really unhealthy:
Jesus said:
Matt 15
10 Summoning the crowd, He told them, “Listen and understand: 11 It’s not what goes into the mouth that defiles(H) a man, but what comes out of the mouth, this defiles a man.”(I)
12 Then the disciples came up and told Him, “Do You know that the Pharisees took offense when they heard this statement?”
13 He replied, “Every plant that My heavenly Father didn’t plant will be uprooted.(J) 14 Leave them alone! They are blind guides.[i] And if the blind guide the blind, both will fall into a pit.”(K)
15 Then Peter replied to Him, “Explain this parable to us.”(L)
16 “Are even you still lacking in understanding?” He[j] asked. 17 “Don’t you realize[k] that whatever goes into the mouth passes into the stomach and is eliminated?[l] 18 But what comes out of the mouth comes from the heart, and this defiles a man.(M) 19 For from the heart come evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, sexual immoralities, thefts, false testimonies,(N) blasphemies.(O) 20 These are the things that defile a man, but eating with unwashed hands does not defile a man.”
