There are fairies at the bottom of my garden!

Get over it and move on for goodness sake.
I am surprised at your disapproval of people expressing their opinions, whatever they may be. Isn't that what we are hear for? If we all just "got over it" and discontinued expressing our opinions... this site wouldn't last very long would it.

Whether the subject is praise for the Word of God, or rebuke for someone who is hostile to the Word of God... it brings glory to the Word of God nevertheless. I choose to embrace it.

It is interesting that when some have their faith challenged they make statements like the one above, but never manage to come up with any evidence!
Here is a challenge for you. Tell Thomas, me, tell all of us: What could any of us do in this forum to convince you to change your mind. You seem to be suggesting that because we cannot conjure up a way to convince you, our claims are weak at best, if not false. You essentially are challenging anyone in the forum to present satisfactory evidence to change your mind... armed with only a keyboard and an internet connection. What is it? What could we type with our keyboards so that the pixels on your monitor are arranged just right, so that you would believe like we do?

If you are unable to think of a way you could be satisfied in this forum, then, you have no right to hold us accountable for not being able to do it. It would be same as saying, "You can't do the impossible, therefore you're wrong." You demand something. By demanding something, in this case--evidence--you should be prepared to describe it. So please explain what you would need to see on your monitor and we'll see about making it happen.

How could you ask what it will take for Thomas to think like you?

Wouldn't it be the same as what it will take for you to think like Thomas?

All this angst over Quirky. She has shown without any doubt who she is and on what her opinion stands. Quirky is who she is. I'm not going to damn her for it.

HOWever. Constantly challenging her to be someone she isn't seems pointless and even silly really. Continually trying to get her to see what you know she is not going to see is irrational. What is that definition of insane? Ah yes, doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

I'm not suggesting anyone change how they react to Quirky. I am saying that if you continue to beat your head against a brick wall, you shouldn't complain if you get a headache!

My post, that you only quoted the last line from, had nothing to do with disapproval of people expressing their opinions.

I was addressing the petty squabbling going on and the personal attacks being made on a particular member. That's not what we're here for.

We're here to debate the topic of a particular thread, not to bicker amongst ourselves. All I'm saying is, make your point, express your views and move on. If you disagree with someone, so state and be done with it.

You're all complaining about the things QB says. Yet, you are the ones that keep adding fuel to the fire. Arguing for arguments sake is not expressing your opinion and does not constitute a constructive debate.

Thanks NM!:)

I realise my POV isn't popular with the people who think they are in the deity's club. However whether they like it or not, they have no more idea of the 'truth' of the matter than I have.

So you claim but offer no reasoning or evidence to support this claim

I knew exactly what you had to say and I addressed it directly. You essentially told everyone to shut up. I only said we are talking about what we want to talk about, so what's your problem. By telling the others to stop bickering about someone else, you became the bickerer. If you're intent is to moderate this thread so as to keep it on topic, I'd say you've got a lot of work to do in all the threads, and you can start by moderating quirkybird. This place is a free-flowing exchange of information and best I can tell, people are not rebuked for straying from the subject. And I really appreciate that about this forum. It allows for a lot more creativity for people to have the freedom to speak "off-the-cuff" without worrying about being moderated for the slightest infringement.

Look, NJ, I understand your point. I do. But again, it surprises me that a fan of Jesus Christ, as you purport to be, would have a problem with a few people rebuking someone for insulting the things which Christians hold dear; and doing so in an uncivil, hostile, arrogant fashion without offering a shred of evidence to corroborate her claims.

It's interesting enough that you would take a side. But that you would take the side of someone hostile to Christians is the real head-scratcher.

....people who think they are in the deity's club......have no more idea of the 'truth' of the matter than I have.
How do you know this if you freely admit you don't know the truth. Please explain, if you can.
