Another Media "Star" Passed

Charles Robert Watts passed away at the tender age of 79 (or 80.)

"Who?" you ask?

Charlie Watts was the drummer for a little-known band, The Rolling Stones. Here are his filmography and obituary: https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0915115/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0 https://www.legacy.com/news/celebrity-deaths/charlie-watts-1941-2021-rolling-stones-drummer/ https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/elton-john-ringo-starr-other-171820577.html

RIP CW (46 min video)

I suppose authoring a plethora of books might make Episcopalian Bishop John Shelby Spong a "media star".

Rest in peace Jack, I have appreciated meeting you, and your books!

Mick Brigden passed away at the tender age of 73 after a "freak accident".

"Who?" you ask?

He was more behind-the-scenes as both a graphic artist in Canada as well as a tour manager/producer for such little-known bands/artists as The Rolling Stones, Van Morrison, Carlos Santana, Humble Pie and Peter Frampton.. Here are his obituary and filmography: https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/rolling-stones-tour-manager-mick-183007026.html https://www.imdb.com/name/nm1629268/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0#producer

Norman Gene MacDonald passed away yesterday at the tender age of 61 from cancer.

"Who?" you ask?

Norm MacDonald was an alum from the (little-known) TV show, Saturday Night Live, as well as other shows and the comedy circuit. Two of his colleagues were Stephen Colbert and Seth Meyers (they both paid tribute to him on their shows after they found out.)

Here's Norm's filmography: https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0005172/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0

Cole succumbed to cancer at the tender age of nine.

"Who?" you ask?

He was one of Chris Poole's cats, helping educate the layperson about :kitty: stuff. Here's a video starring Cole:

Colin Powell passed away at the tender 84 from complications of COVID-19 (before you ask, he was vaccinated!)

"Who?" you ask?

General/Secretary of State Colin Powell had several firsts in American politics, including first African-American leader of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, first African-American Secretary of State and several other firsts. He was also the son of immigrants from the Dominican Republic (or was it Jamaica?)

Here are four of the eulogies from two separate news shows that talk about him (I apologize for the politics involved here):

I liked him

I did as well till he lied to the UN and the citizenry to get us behind vengeance instead of justice...to spend a trillions killing millions as well as more of our citizen soldiers than died in 9/11. To add insult to injury Roughly 1.8 million of the 4.6 million veterans who have served since Sept. 11, 2001, have a service-connected disability.

In my eye he gets a slight reprieve by waking up and decrying the actions of our last Resident, but as a head of joint Chiefs and Secretary of State...he failed our nation and our world during his moment of supporting George's lies.

We will be paying for these errors monetarily and globally for the lifetime of my children and beyond.

Peter Scolari succumbed to cancer Friday at the tender age of 66.

"Who?" you ask?

He was rather prolific in front of as well as behind the camera, with a breakout role with another "unknown" in Bosom Buddies (the other "unknown" was Tom Hanks.) Scolari was also a rather adept juggler as well. Anyway, here's his filmography and obituary: https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0778642/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0 https://www.playbill.com/article/pe...le&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=PlaybillPost

A truly great man passed peacefully at his home last weekend with family and friends by his side. He was an award winning photographer, videographer, cinematographer and playwright. Virtually everyone has seen his work at one time or another, yet few knew his name. No matter, to most he was just Aussie and to barrow his vernacular, one hell of a mate...
