With all the turmoil arising as of late with ISIS destroying ancient sites like Palmyra, and with the recent turmoil between the LGBT community and Christianity and those of solid Christian Faith, where do you see Organized Religion in the next 50 years?

Alive and well... I don't believe any of this has been the biggest rift or issue religions have fought...

They overcame the loss of slavery, science, crusades... At one time had a much stronger hold on society... They've lost that control...and will adapt to the world as it changes...or they will be their own demise....relegated to pockets of believers who continue to fight over who has the right perception about what they don't know.

Dealing more and more with new issues, like bioethics.

Also, I think religions will focus on practice. Some people mistake practice for reciting a creed, but that's not what I mean. Peter Owen-Jones - a Christian minister well-known for his TV series Extreme Pilgrim and How to Live a Simple Life - embodies what I mean by "focus on practice." In How to Live a Simple Life he lives like St. Francis and, moving away from the highly intellectual tradition of European Christianity, searches for something he feels is missing in Christianity today. What is it? Experience. Peter remarks: "I’d always had immeasurable respect for the man [St. Francis]. There’s something intimate in his teaching that’s quite unusual in Christianity. I don’t think you can really understand him by reading or hearing about it – you have to experience some of what he means for yourself." His emphasis is on experience. In my opinion, this is the future of religion - which gradually moves away from materialism, moves towards environmental care, and shows compassion for animals.

I do not know but in the west it is in decline...elsewhere who knows...the Muslim population is growing....so does atheism in China. If it was a Muslim vs China face off I bet my money on the Chinese.....they will never submit ( into this, so called "multiculturalism" ) like the weak and impotent West...Marxists foresaw this 70+ years ago when they banned religion....

I think you may underestimate the West...

Islam has been in China since the Prophet (PBUH) lived, it's numbers have grown, just not in a proportion to China's overall growth. Religion tends to spread in a Exponential style. Which we can see today more people means more mouths to spread the word, and more eyes to read it. For most religions, there comes a point where science or world view or event stops growth and begins a decline, such as you see in Christianity. I see so many "missionary" trips, and calls to Christianity, yet it is probably the fastest declining religion, even considering the "non-organized" denominations. I do not think Christianity will make a complete fall, but it will continue to fall. IMO Islam will continue to rise, despite the bad publicity, and certain horrible followers as more learn the "truth". Islam wasn't spread by the sword, and it never will. Submission to God is impossible to force. Only those who understand will be capable of it.

Organized religion overall I doubt will be eliminated. And I will venture to say anyone who wants it, is really just admitting that their chosen religion isn't correct to their knowledge. Dis-organised religion is a religion of no concensus. I simply cannot accept that their is no true path, but I will admit their may be several.

Game trails however rarely lead you to the city. Whereas Interstates and Highways often do. Which of these do more humans travel on when trying to get to the city?

Europe will shift from Christianity to Agnosticism to Islam. China from Atheism to Christianity and Islam. Americas will slowly go agnostic and then may be buddhist/hindu/muslim/non-organised etc. Muslim regions will remain muslim. There isnt gonna be any standoff between Islam, Europe and China. As American superpowerdom fades away, the wars between east and west will also fade. Eurasia will start to merge slowly with cross pollination of religious ideas. Just recently Putin has opened a huge mosque (10000 worshipers) in moscow, and dubai sheiks started a hindu temple.

China will slowly rule the world. IMO there might be problems between Christianity/Islam and Government/religion in china. They'll deal with it their "regular" way for sometime.

Well the world was supposed to end yesterday, in case you missed the announcement. Major asteroid on collision course with our planet, government keeping it a secret to prevent widespread panic. Imagine my surprise that the day went without any disruption worthy of note. Those who keep waiting for this alleged End Time will still be waiting 50 years from now. And 100 years from now. And so on. And so on. The only way an armageddon will devastate the earth is if stupid humans do it. No deity required.

Aside from the actual date, the scripture is fairly clear on the subject. Of course, we are all free to choose what teachings we follow.

Some already call it Eurabia...and I don't like it.... :( but I think you maybe right...

And also our interpretation of said teachings. Many christians I think highly of say that the literal interpretation of the end of the world is not a correct interpretation. It is a symbolic event. Of course I'm not so crazy as to try and convince anyone of that!

I think there will be more cooperative efforts among religions in the future..as along the lines of the World Parliament of Religions and other inter-faith organizations.

That honestly terrifies me at the thought. as long as the extremist views in Islam change, I'll probably be okay if it happens. Equality needs to happen

This (European Refugee Invasion) has been planned long before. Europe's (especially Germany) has no birthrate to support any pension system so they have a choice of African immigrants or Syrians. They picked the lesser of the two piss-poor choices. The Syrians and Afghans are not going there to work. Most Afghans (who entered Hungary) are illiterate. There are no jobs in Europe to speak of (Spain has 20% UE) what can go wrong here?
I think you may underestimate the West...
