You know what. This has descended at this point into farce. You want to be offended, you go right ahead. I'm done with this thread.

Wil, I don't think you realize how offensive statements like that are to people who view the Bible as the inspired word of God. Yeah, man got his grubby mitts in there and changed things around a bit, but the story is still a good one and with a little discernment, not to hard to figure out. You may disagree and that's fine, but don't smear something another holds near and dear.

funny...I believe it was the inspired word of G!d...as understood and interpreted through the lense of man as the best way to portray the lessons we should learn.

I don't believe it to be a history book, nor a science book. I believe it to be a religious book. Jews use 2/3rds, and find that enough to understand and connect with G!d. Followers of Jesus thought that wasn't enough and needed to add more books to help them. The Jews I know don't think the new testament is offensive...just a different belief...the Jews I know also use the calendar as tradition not as gospel...and know genesis to be metaphor, allegory, not fact, not history, not.science...
