What NON-POLITICAL, NON-RELIGIOUS Headlines Are You Following?

FBI accuses Prince Andrew of 'zero cooperation' over the Epstein trial.

Wondering if there will be any trade-off between this and the Sacoolas case (woman who killed a Brit motorcyclist — albeit by accident — and fled back to US claiming 'Diplomatic Immunity').

Voices here already talking of a trade ... although unlikely Brits will hand over a royal for prosecution in the US.

A four-year-old boy died from complications of the flu, entirely preventable, too. All because there are people who believe that vaccines cause autism. :(

My problem with vaccines is the movement more so than the vaccines themselves.

Though I do have concerns about the amount of things we are expected to get our children vaccinated for and what sort of preservatives, stabilisers etc. The other thing is, does it have to be so soon after they are born? With my first son he wasn't out of the womb 5 minutes before they jabbed him in each leg.. vitamin K I think it was. It's like "Welcome to the world.. here have some pain".

I don't like that it is another area I am expected to surrender my freedom and I don't like that the implications of me surrendering that freedom are going to affect my children more than myself.

I am very suspicious of how hard it is pushed by Hollywood.

As for what I've been following:

Of course, the political news are the Indian Chief of Defense Staff saying that in case China does not go back to the agreed line, there will be no option other than war. And Rahul Gandhi of the dynasty refusing to take charge of his family's political party, Indian National Congress, for the umpteenth time. His mother and other leaders are running after him to wear the crown, but he refuses. It seems his Italian mother (wife of the former Indian Prime Minister, Rajiv Gandhi) wants to make a horse out of an ass, but she has not succeeded. It is at the moment the biggest joke in Indian politics.

Michigan funeral home discovers woman declared dead is actually alive
A 20-year-old woman, who had been pronounced dead early Sunday in Southfield, Mich., after a heart attack, was taken to a Detroit funeral home, where staff there found she was in fact still very much alive.

Good job funeral home staff noticed before embalming the poor lass! Makes you wonder though, how many may have been prematurely sent to their reward. -

I'm following the brutal murders of two people in Kenosha as well as what both the Milwaukee Bucks and the Milwaukee Brewers did in response (Kenosha is between where StevePame and I live.) I have been binging on :kitty:s since I heard about the new curfew imposed.

It's shameful that people can be terrified to go into a fooking grocery store because they are in one of the "at-risk" groups. *shakes head*
Nothing shameful in this, Phyllis. 61,529 people have died in India, 3.4 million infections. Delhi has had more than its share of Covid. It is good to be careful.

It's that they are afraid of those who either don't wear their masks properly or those who refuse to wear them because:

1) "This is America! I have the right not to wear a mask!"
2) "Masks are uncomfortable!"
3) "I don't have the virus! Why should I be required to wear a dumb mask!?"
4) "It's against my religion to cover any part of my face!"
5) "It's too difficult to use!" (my personal favorite on this list.)

Many victims of the new coronavirus encountered someone who was asymptomatic and disregarded the rules, often at venues where there are/were people who disregard/ed "social distancing" or they encounter someone that was exposed not long before they meet up with a vulnerable person (like what happened to a young lady who unintentionally killed her beloved grandfather after she attended a college party [she visited him less than an hour post-party].)

I apologize for bringing up American politics/religion into this thread by this post. :kitty:s are in the virtual mail with their "necessities".

Indeed!

I know Covid and politics is on everyone's mind these days, but there's plenty of threads on those subjects already. So if we could, let's save this thread as a detraction from the mainstream news. Thanks! ;)

Airline pilots report seeing 'a guy in a jetpack' flying 3,000 feet over Los Angeles

An American Airlines pilot was approaching Los Angeles International Airport at around 6:30 p.m. when he called in the sighting to air-traffic control, according to an audio log. The unidentified flying person was at the plane’s altitude, the pilot said, about 3,000 feet in the air.

“Tower, American 1997. We just passed a guy in a jetpack,” the pilot said

I've been keeping up on the wildfires on the west coast of the United States (I have friends/contacts there) and I just found out that the El Dorado fire was started by a fooking gender reveal party (one firefighter perished in that fire.) Fooking idjits and prohibited pyrotechnics.
