What's For Dinner?

I'm having vegetarian blue tacos for dinner (or I may make vegetarian taco pasta casserole.) Tomorrow, it's going to be vegetarian Hungarian Goulash!

They didn't mind "drowning a few worms" when it was fishing season....
Worms? What kind of bait is that? Down here we just pick up some road kill en route and have at it. Roo tail works best. In our case, the one we procured was somewhat less than fresh, so my son dangled it off the side of the boat as we were headed out. Next thing we know dozens of golden perch are following us. When my son pulled the roo tail out of the water to cut it, they literally just started jumping in! When we were about ankle deep in fish, we headed back to shore. Never even picked up a pole. Great day!

"Drown a few worms" was how dad used to say that he was going fishing. He didn't care what he used for bait (sometimes he'd only use his lures.)

You'd have fun catching catfish (they're tasty, too, from what I understand.) The only problem with catfish is that they have a nasty way of "getting back" at predators.

Plenty 'cats' on the Murray. Just don't care for 'em.

Nor do I, but my former next-door neighbors enjoyed them as do a couple of family members and quite a number of my current neighbors in my apartment complex.

The only 'cats' that I ♡ are :kitty:s (as everyone on the forum knows...)

I had some mochi ice cream bites earlier today, now I'm going to be "good-for-something" and have a peanut butter sandwich to go with my medications.

worth putting up with long hair in the sink eh? I had a neighbor whose mother would come over for months at a time. When she was in town you could not go over to the house without her insisting she fed you. As you walked into the door, she walked into the kitchen and started cooking. I also could not sit on the floor...my preferred space...she would get down on the floor with me or insist I got up and sat in a chair. My sitting on the floor was an indication to her, that I thought I was beneath her...cultural things are interesting.

Cookin-up some Prickly Pears with the Abbies
Wouldn't want to be the one responsible for the harvest in the before pic!

On that note, I had to get up at 4AM in order to get into my own kitchen and get some cooking done. Here's the result. Left over turkey sautéed with onion, plum tomato, bell pepper and spices then tossed together with veggie pasta and cheese. I call it:

We picked plenty of the leaves and pears in Arizona and Nevada... we rubbed them with small branches to get most of the stickers off before picking them...and learned to be careful when picking and skinning...but often still got stuck... the flavors were worth it.
