Something I read earlier today that I don't know where to put

Interfaith does resonate in spite of...

The young man who started the fundraising page just happens to be either Muslim or Zoroastrian(sp?) and he happened to raise through his page over $700,000 for a synagogue that he might not ever see irl (he's in New York City, the shul is in Pittsburgh {two different states}.)

I'm kinda ashamed that he's done more than I have to assist in the rebuilding of this congregation.

Nothing to feel ashamed of in this. We should feel encouraged that people are doing so much good and living interfaith before our eyes. So many of us contribute in different ways. There are other ways to make a difference besides raising money, including raising awareness.

From your post I was unsure if you are aware that the killer murdered members of three separate congregations: Tree of Life- Or L'simchah; Dor Hadash; New Light, a congregation of which I was a member many, many years ago. All three congegations were housed in the one building which belongs to Tree of Life, but conducted worship services independent of one another.

This gentleman has a legitimate rant:

I hope that he still has his job and his family. I know that I'm (possibly) facing the same thing as his wife and it scares the living sh!t out of me...

Jakelin Amei Rosmery Caal Maquin passed away from extreme dehydration and starvation in INS/Border Patrol custody at the tender age of 7. She escaped from Guatemala along with her father, who has/had to bury his little girl.

Visit the :kitty: videos and hug your little ones tonight.

Someone's eating crow...

The Parkland massacre survivor in question has been accepted by Harvard after being rejected by four universities in California.

My heart breaks for the detective who was killed during a traffic stop as well as her family, friends and colleagues.

The waste of a good evening of adult entertainment driving the semi should've taken himself off the road while on the prescriptions. There are other jobs he could've been at during the time, plus he wouldn't be facing serious prison time. Oh, and he wouldn't have to think about the lady's seven-year-old growing up without his mother.

Georges Loinger passed away at the tender age of 108.

"Who?" you ask?

He was a member of the French Resistance during WWII, joining after escaping from a Nazi concentration camp. He helped over 100 Jewish children escape occupied France into Switzerland through the use of soccer/"British football". He had a cousin who was also a member of the French Resistance, albeit "lesser known": Marcel Marceau. Here's Georges' obituary: https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-46714673

Happy New Year folks. All said and done down here and thankfully, I slept right through it. -:D

Big doings this year as our indigenous culture was included in the festivities. It's never exactly been excluded, just that a lot of Aboriginal cultures lack a 'New Year' concept. Unlike ours, their calendar has no beginning or end.
