Can I ask a question about politics?
How was politics when only philosophers existed?

My question is I think politics asking the virtue courage.
Especially to help the weak.
Weak is normal.
We all are.
Babies are vulnerable.
So I can give more examples.
People are confused between a job you are good at and being a citizens.
What if we had as Socrates called them people of gold who could be exellant politicians.
Can a politician be a Christian?
Is a philosopher an Atheist?

What I mean is in politics we need virtues and Christian values.
We say old and new testament.
Old for revdngive, new for forgiving. In politics we can not be both at the same time. How much freedom does democratize gives us to keep democracy seeing as a healthy thing that does not make us sick?
Where are the boundaries before we have the freedom to act as criminals official by the law and order accepted.

I am confused.
Perhaps I should write this in the catogory mythology.
So, I do that to.

I appreciate that English is not your native language, but your English writing skills are such that I find it extremely difficult to follow what you are trying to say.

To the extent I think I understand what you are saying, as a Jew I do not agree that in politics we need specfically Christian values and, as a Jew, I find your characterization of Jewish scripture, what you refer to as the old testament, totally without value.

The problem with values is that virtues and morals and ethics are often claimed as being belonging to philosophy. But as a Rabbi you perhaps can clear this up for me. I am born as a Catholic. To know about virtues and angels I needed the books and knowledge of what was called Jewish. What was surprising to me. And it still is to me. But to me you understand my question real well. I of course can not speak English ad well as the native English people can speak. That simply is not possible, because I know, then it becomes music to my ears.

I'd say there was no such time. There was politics in the days of the Greek philosophers ...

Can a politician be a Christian?
Yes

Is a philosopher an Atheist?
Not necessarily ... atheism is relatively new.

The Greek philosophers weren't atheists.

What I mean is in politics we need virtues and Christian values.
I rather think we need basic values. The Golden Rule: Treat others as you would like to be treated would be enough.

I mean, it take courage to say out loud your opinion. So that takes courage and courage is a virtue. What do you mean with values?

What do YOU mean by values. You introduced the term in your first entry.

I'm tired of the word salad and talking in circles.
I feel like her thoughts are like poetry. English is not her first language so we may not completely understand what she is eaying. I feel like we need to show some grace and engage what we do understand.

For values are you meaning morality? Like not killing or stealing?

Yes, spiritualbee has reported a language barrier and does speak/write very poetically at times.

I thought the language barrier was the primary or only issue at first, and even complimented something they wrote in one thread as a lovely poem.

Having read several things, remarked several times that I did not understand them, and in fact in one thread RabbiO had a similar exchange with them, that seemed to leave him confused, and he even suggested spiritualbee type in their own language and use google translate. No response that I saw.

Having observed many posts and a few exchanges, I have become much more doubtful that this new member is truly making a good faith effort to make themselves understood.

I also have a hypothesis that they may be the same person as another new contributor who uses word salad but is also more aggressive and confrontational with others.

I could be wrong, but neither seems to be truly making a good faith effort to make themselves understood, and interacting with the two of them, I have become weary.

@spiritualbee, if you are seeing this, indeed your words seem poetic, but hard to make sense of, please consider @RabbiO's suggestion of using Google Translate or something of that kind.

an idealistic dream
What's the worthy of idealistic dreaming? Things arise and decay on causes. Ideal isn't in the frame of the six senses, yet there is a ideal path of practice leading there, good householder.

As for vision, one can just perceive of what one has met: if having touched ideal, nothing could sake one anymore, knowing the nature of else well.

I forgot to tell that the vision talked about corrupted businessman. And it destroyed a beautiful dream we now blame but is blameless but beautiful. Plus the dream include the believe in an honest holy and fair God.

So good householder needs to wait till sickness, dispear lose and death approach near to prove if it was worthy to hold on a dream and so much good time to work ways out good wasted. What's the doubt with seeing the dream isn't? Doubting what?

It means that philosophers belief in a God and we're not atheists. Atheists belief not in morality. God means morality and being good, honest and fair and it gave value to gold as a coin you can pay with. Libra are the scales to measure with that means that also knowledge of Astrology was involved with the old knowledge that can not be denied.

Dhamma Bhikkhu is a Buddhist. He does not believe in God or soul. Are you accusing him of being immoral, dishonest and unfair in his dealings?

Are there not some branches of Buddhism that believe in gods and souls?
