A question to Christians. Jesus Christ left us. He said he will drink no wine until the right time. I understand that. But I could not wait so long.
Is that wrong? Am I a sinner? I think sometimes there is something to celebrate. Sometimes after realizing for example how well things actually going.
I must have this of from my chest or it remain a burden.
You asked for an answer from Cristians. I give you an informed Muslim anwer, if you don'n mind.
Wine played a role in Jewish ceremonies; e.g. on Seder, you take four sips of wine. You will probably not get drunk of it, and not become an alcoholic if you do that once a year. Indeed, alcohol does not create an imediate dependency like heroine. But it is harmful.
Hnece, we find in the Quran:
4:43 O you who believe! Do not approach the prayer while you are drunk, so that you know what you say ...
2:219 They ask you about intoxicants and gambling. Say, “There is gross sin in them, and some benefits for people, but their sinfulness outweighs their benefit.” And they ask you about what they should give: say, “The surplus.” Thus God explains the revelations to you, so that you may think.
5:90-91 O you who believe! Intoxicants, gambling, idolatry, and divination are abominations of Satan's doing. Avoid them, so that you may prosper. Satan wants to provoke strife and hatred among you through intoxicants and gambling, and to prevent you from the remembrance of God, and from prayer. Will you not desist?
seems like a father admonishing his son:
4:43 "I don't want to see you coming home in my house, and you are drunk."
2:219 "I know you have pleasure with it. But it's really harmful. It's not worth it. Refrain from drinking, please."
5:90-91 "That stuff is devilish. It will destroy you. I forbid you to drink. For your own sake, stop it!"
May you think about what concerns you.
