What music are you listening to?

Kirtan, kirtan and more kirtan. I do listen to some Christian Contemporary music (mostly old school). Anything Krishna Das, Govind das & Radha, Snatam Kaur, and others.

I stopped listening to secular music; it just doesn't really interest me anymore. There are a lot of it that I still love, and I have no problem hearing it, but I no longer seek it out to listen to it anymore.

That's original Indian music--which I love as well, but I mostly listen to kirtan from Westerners. Here is one by Govind Das and Radha (husband and wife). It's a well-known song praising Hanuman--the Hanuman Chalisa; it's very long, very wordy, and quite something if you can learn this by heart:

That was good! Thanks to you, I have now discovered something genuinely new and quite pleasing. And well into my eighth decade of life that is a rare thing.

Thank you!

A song that got someone in trouble for its use this year: Fortunate Son by CCR, written/composed by John Fogarty is playing in the background.

Baba O'Riley just ended and I Love Rock and Roll just started, both by "little-known" bands (the Who for the first, the Blackhearts for the second.)

My Prime Music subscription had been unused for over a week so I indulged and did the complete Blonde on Blonde album last night.

It's Too Late from Carole King's 1971 album, Tapestry:

Avoid listening to the song if/when one's depressed!

It is never too late for Tapestry. This album stayed on the Billboard charts for six consecutive years, which I think is still the record for a debut album.

Hi. I'm new here. Pleased to make your acquaintances.
At this exact moment I am chilling to the oldschool black metal cold and grim masterpiece *Transylvanian Hunger* by Darkthrone.
I'm a metalhead for the last 32 years(I'm 42). Been into metal(hair metal first then heavy metal in 88, thrash metal by 89, death metal by 93, black metal by the early 2000s)...my favorite subgenre of which is oldschool death metal and oldschool thrash metal.

Liv Warfield's incredible cover of Alice in Chains Put You Down for the MoPOP Founder's Award!

I'm not sure if you'd be interested in two of the songs that were on today: Woman In Chains by Tears for Fears and Only Women Bleed by Alice Cooper.

Oh, and there was Battle For Evermore by Led Zeppelin

I really do enjoy Battle of Evermore. Here is the cover by the Lovemongers, Ann and Nancy Wilson's other group:
