Well I suppose if the choice in captivity was eat human flesh or die of starvation they will. Rather like humans would. But human flesh does not form a normal part of a pig's diet I don't think (I mean in their natural habitat not when kept in a farm, sometimes in appalling conditions...but I digress...)

Another disturbing thought is that we guage how clean the water is by testing the shellfish.. blech

I probably should stay out of this, but I feel compelled to add a tidbit:

Considering that wild boars are a rather challenging prey for hunters, I have been told by a farmer that a pig will turn to the scent of blood...human or otherwise. I was told of an old boy who caught his arm on the top rail while feeding the pigs. He started bleeding, the ol' boar smelled it and reached up and bit the man's arm off.

Don't know if someone was pulling my leg or not, but I have never looked at pigs quite the same since.

I have seen those razorbacks on a dark night in the woods and lived to tell about it....there is something important about this....don't know exactly what....but, for sure, I don't see any good reason to try and make dinner out of one....

jesus would drink with anyone, so long as they got the ale in...

he also made his own home brew, and that was where he got all that wine for the wedding party...

jesus doesn't mind u having a bevvy... both beer and champagne were made by monks...

...I've always wanted to go for a bevvy with Jesus, incidentally, wonder what kind of drunk he'd be? would he be a miseryguts, crying into his ale about sin and hell, and how his dad has never liked him... ? would he become an alehouse fighter, squaring up to guys in the bar, wildly flinging his fists about..? would he be an outrageous flirt and a very bad mover, dad-dancing..?

and well... didn't he fish for a bit? so, wasn't a veggie then, either?

I believe my body is the temple of the Holy Spirit and for the same reason I quit smoking.. there is also a stigma associated with smoking so praise the Lord He gave me victory over that addiction which is a bondage of the flesh.

A bit of revenge would be nice every now and then if done in moderation.

Not that this is significant either, but I just realized that Mr. Kotter's name is spelled with a "K". But maybe there is some meaning to the way I spelled it, because the nearest town to where I spotted the large swine in the woods is (drumroll, please) East Cotter, Arkansas. (And no, it was not wearing a red jersey or a football helmet.)

Also, I wonder what percentage of my posts have actually been spent correcting myself, and out of that percentage, how many times did I really need to do that?

Anyway, your regular program should return momentarily. Thanks for indulging me. :D

That, is because shell fish filter the water we consume. Consider the lowly Zebra mussel, which can clean Lake Eire before the water moves from the Detroit River to Lake Ontario. If fact it makes the lake too clean...to the point of killing off the algea and other mini life that sustains the rest of the ecosystem.
