Have you seen the little piggies crawling in the d
On CR home page is states the following.....
------------------------------------------------------
Faiths actively represented include:
  • Christian (Protestant, Catholic, non-denominational)
  • Muslim (Sunni, Shi'a)
  • Jewish (Orthodox, Reform)
  • Buddhist (Theravada to Zen)
  • Taoist
  • Hindu (Indian and Tamil)
  • Sikh
  • Zoroastrian
  • NeoPagan (Wiccans, Witches, Celtic Reconstructionist)
  • Mystic (Gnostic, Hermetic, Theosophist)
  • Satanist
  • Baha'i
  • Hare Krishna
  • Rastafarian
  • Native American
  • New Thought (Theists, Deist, Pantheist)
  • Humanist (Agnostic, Atheist)
------------------------------------------------------

I cannot help but notice that the religion I represent's isn't present on this list.... (followers of Jedi faith...) Oh and where is Matrixism!?!! Also is this in any particular order? Like... Why is christianity at the top? Favourtism?!? In fairness shouldn't you put it in chronological(sp?) order?

It appears to me that you have a decidedly western viewpoint for a Jedi. The order of the page is varied depending on your background. Some read left to right, others right to left, some top to bottom, others bottom to top.

In this case if you were to read back to front rather than front to back you'd notice that the bytes of information are stored equally and evenly distributed throughout the matrix, and low and behold this relationship is dictated by the force...ie your people's problem.

One way you can correct this problem and any others that you have with me or this forum is to find the brightness control on your monitor and move it to 0%.

This is not a joke, this is the instructions specifically for those into Jedism and Matixism (although I prefer Elliemayism). With the dark monitor you won't need your keyboard or your mouse to move around the screen, answer posts and will be able to see the forum sections of which you speak...again they are behind the pixels. Jethro is moderator and Mr. Drysdale will help with any technical issues you have...please direct all questions and comments to them.

Glad to be of service.

I really feel good about this, my first real task, successfully completed.

lolol...Great, just hilarious!

But seriously, I think the Jedi Faith has some 390,000 adherents as of 2001. I don't know how many defectors there were after the last two episodes, however, particularly after the casting of Hayden Christensen.

Curious, though isn't it? How many mock and laugh the Jedi faith, yet to mock and laugh at other religions that is seen as wrong... Interesting how it's ok to poke fun at one group but not another, yet either could be closer to the "truth" than the other..

I think the kicker was explaining the Force as like having a little infection.

As for the order - I think I mentioned Christianity first simply because it's probably the largest faith group on the site, and also has a lot of diversify within that group. The listing is pretty arbitrary though.

Any Sith Lords out there? Maybe it's because we need to bring some balance to the Force. Bring in Annakin Skywalker. Some Jedi need to be wiped out. I've heard they're part of a conspiracy.

You calling me?

I just love those Jedi, the conspiracy is orientated by the mind field... jump the mind, drop the mind, drop out and you've got love love love.

may the peace be with you........

I think I asked Brian about the list once and he said it was more a way to draw people in. For example, afaik there are no and have never been active representatives of Reform Judaism on the site which doesn't even exist under that name in the UK where the closest thing to it is called Liberal Judaism (a very confusing name when trying to speak in general about the liberal movements.) My own views are very far from Reform views. I think they put far too much emphasis on the autonomy of the individual and far too little emphasis on spirituality, traditional Jewish values, religious practice, Judaism as an ongoing way of life outside the shul and a handful of other things including lack of foresight about the effects some of their decisions have on the whole of the Jewish people. And as a sefardic Jew BB often doesn't label himself as Orthodox which he sees as something that developed in Ashkenazic Judaism independant of Sefardic Judaism. But I think we both tend to gravitate toward the label post-denominational which, while a valuable description for either of us, is a minority label and very broad. If it instead said sefardi and renewal that would still speak to fewer visitors to the front page, unless they're attracted by things that they don't know so much about.

Wil, I just wanted to congratulate you on your first task completed. Jolly well done, the problem was solved, with expedience, efficiency and as little actual effort as possible therefore not distrupting anyone else's day to day posting. Have you ever thought of becoming a political candidate?

You think I've got the double speak in order?? Oh I could go on about nothing for hours....of course you all already know that.

And if I had it to do over again....oops...topic for another thread you just started..

What really impressed me was your ability to totally negate someone's genuine concerns whilst still maintaining an appearance of complete concern and determination to attend to their needs. Perfect political material. ;):D
