Ah I was right then, so the stick have any meaning or anything? Just Looked at the peice and thought wow that's nice then my eyes went straight to the stick kinda peeking up from the bottom and I began to ponder... You see I fill my works with millions of meanings and such lol so I tend to look for it in others works... Perhaps it is just a stick lol...

No meaning at all, just a patch over a mistake. I have done more cryptic paintings but my only intention there was to capture her intense stare.

Thanks Grey and Penguin :)

All my paintings are in acrylic, I'm quite a fast worker and they suit me.

My next one will be a few days as it is my most technically challenging one so far. I have put together a travel painting kit for my upcoming trip to India and this is why I paint so furiously, to get in practice. I have not painted for years and I had forgotten just how much I love it!!

Cool, we can look forward to some landscapes then.
I used to paint, oils, but gave up as I got frustrated with it. Who know's, when I get more time I may return to it and try again.

I do do the occasional landscape but I like painting interesting looking people much more. If I can incorporate a bit of landscape into a portrait I do do so but always the person I am painting is the focus of my work.

What Alex says is true, paint your frustration. Its like singing, everybody can sing once they have found and trained their natural pitch. Everybody can paint...try working at different scales. I for instance am most comfortable painting people on a larger than life scale, I simply cannot do miniatures with any realism in them. Experiment with different styles and scales till you find what suits you.

Hmmm on my monitor...(well its my telly I use), it shows up obvious. I picked it out in metallic paint so it has the shine you get on a dragonfly. Rest is in standard flat acrylics.

Haven't done much latley.... Going through a hibernation kinda stage lol... but love seeing the gallery active! Here is a doodle...

I have no doubt your stuff is good, Alex, but all I'm getting on a lot of your images is the little red X. Kinda bums me out, 'cause I know I'm probably missing some really cool work.

Is it possible maybe to reformat your images to a simpler size / format, to make them more accessible?

Your image of the man (you?) and a boy with an ice cream on a dock, watching the dragonfly, I can see very well, both attempts. It is Alex's images that I seem to have trouble viewing. I see one occasionally, enough to agree with those who fawn over his work, but I feel left out that I miss so many. I suspect the image files are just too large. Where I am at if the files are too large the computer rejects / blocks them.

Tao: Mucho better mi amigo....

123: Really? some of my images come off as errors? That is very strange..... I am not totally sure how the size could effect it's viewing, and I used to work in *.png, but that was long long time ago, since I have been on the handle 'Alex P' all my works have been in *.jpg format. I will look into it... I appologise to any others that have been getting large X spaces, I was not aware of this.
