Julie's on the road of contractions - but it's not full on labour yet. Going to have lunch, watch "Finding Nemo" and then take the kids to Grandma's. Then it's the fun wait around as Maya decides when she'll come into the world. Hopefully not too late tonight. :)

Anyway, just to let you know that I won;t be around wacthing the forums today, and that my other two children are a bit young to do that job for me. :D

Later. :)

If I may, Brian, since you have allowed us for a good extent into your life, family, and home, allow me to propose that you and your better half tie the nuptial knot officially and properly; now that your third child is coming. It will be good for the kids, whatever people claim that they don't put any importance in a child being born from parents living in marriage or living without marriage.

Congratulations for your third child; on the other hand you did the right thing in undergoing vasectomy.

Just my busy body.

COOL! Good thoughts and prayers in your family's direction!

Thanks all - everything went fine. Maya came in at 7lb 12, and Julie even did it without any pain relief this time as well. :)

Tired - time for bath and bed. Night all 9will get back to forums once readjusted. :D

You have a new baby, congratulations! And to the better half also. I suspect your other two kids are still in their tender childhood.

Anyway, if I may, I have a suggestion for bringing up kids, which I had used with my own two and I think they grew up better that way:

"Talk to them like they are grown-ups, you and your better half, also request others to do likewise; and teach them to talk back to you like grown-ups -- meaning no baby-talk to and with them, and from them either."

Congratulation! Must be an awesome time in your life!! :)

A blessing on your head, mazel tov, mazel tov! A baby to be fed, mazel tov, mazel tov! (Sincerest apologies to the lyricist for Fiddler On the Roof)

Congratulations Brian. My secound godson Jedidiah (thats how they spelled it) was born Saturday.I got to stay with my first godchild all weekend, with grama and stepgrandpa. They all baby-talk all the time when mom, dad and new baby came home THEY DO TOO.My 19 month old godson will not sit still and he will not make straight eye-contact with anyone evan with your face 6 inches away.Maybe its no big deal but if anyone (Susma) knows a good book about this it would be appreciated, bought by me and mailed to mom and dad

sjr,

Are you thinking autism or pervasive developmental delay? Or vision problems? I would suggest that they tell the pediatrician about it and get a referral to a specialist. My husband is a pediatric speech therapist for kids ages 3-5 years, and I've heard from him how important it is to get intervention early if you think there is a problem. Talk to the pediatrician and get a referral to whomever is most appropriate. They'll assess your godson and at least give you a place to start from.

My son was born with a cleft palate, facial asymmetry, deafness in one ear, and near blindness in one eye. I can't say enough about the early intervention system. They were and are fantastic.

Good luck. Sending you and your family metta ...
