i am a right showoff when it comes to my clematis :)

but i do not forget to give the glory to the most high for providing these great flowers for our enjoyment

Nice pictures mee, beautiful, radiant colours.
My garden is in a bit of a sorry state at the moment I'm afraid :(
However, I am trying to grow some peppers indoors, which seem to be going quite well.
I've been talking to them most days!:)

Make sure you keep them warm :) Oh and moist (not wet!) soil should be kept constant... :D A weekly feed also helps......

Very nice clematis, mee - looks like you certainly keep those healthy. :)

thanks:) i must admit those pics are not from this year ,they are last years i think , the continual rain this year seemed to put a damper on my garden this year . but i am hoping for a better show next year .

the purple one is now in the ground rather than being in a pot, , and is growing over an arch way , but i did not have many flowers this year , it could be because of moving it from its pot ,so next year i am hoping for some more flowers , i will have to feed it well and then it may produce some.


something that has done well this year is a passion flower , i did have it in a pot but i transplanted it into the ground , and it then seemed to die on me, but just when i was thinking of digging it up it had a small amount of new growth appear , so i left it where it was and now it is scrambling on the shed roof and it has had loads of flowers .

the rain this year has not been kind to my garden this year as well.

those pics were taken last year , but i am hoping next year i will have some more flowers .


my.. lily of the valley .... has really spread this year and the smell from those is so nice as i get out of the car on the driveway .


but my clamatis has not done as well this year:(

i grew a pepper outside a couple of years ago in a pot, and it did quite well , but then the next year i tried one again and it died on me.

someone gave me some tomatoe plants this year ,and i think they got to wet because they are going rotten on the plant and splinting open before i get the chance to pick them.

Yes, I learned the hard way that too much water will do this to tomatoes.

I love passion flower! We had some that grew in the yard wild when I was a kid, and I've looked for them ever since. I wasn't aware they could be potted, but the wife and I found one in a garden nursery a couple of weeks ago...it came home with us and is now by the front porch. I need to get a trellis for it.

They are beautiful...you have quite a 'green thumb' :D
 
I've got 22 pepper plants growing at the moment, they are all over 6 inches now and doing well. Hopefully they will produce a nice harvest.

i like the red peppers , is it true that the longer they are left on the plant is when they go red ? or are there different coloured ones ?


maybe i am wrong but are they all green and the longer they are left they change colour ? not sure :confused:
 
Nope that isn't the case... Depending on the type of pepper some are meant to be and will remain green, You even get some (though it is rare) species which can go brown blue white or even PURPLE!! :eek: The uhm Bell pepper is a good example of this... Only happens (I think) with the sweet peppers....

And ah yeees, the longer a pepper is left the redder it goes :O also the hotter or sweeter it goes too.. It is like a wine or a honey, it matures... But alike many things though it is a living fruit so it will peak.
 
mee, I believe we've discussed elsewhere our mutual love for clematis.

I have a couple of clematis in my yard now, a purple and an off-white, but neither is as spectacular as the one I left behind in NY, which is like the one in the above photo.

Are clematis evergreen or do they die back in winter please?
