should you fear hell ?
thats what the clergy have taught.

what REALLY happens to a person at death?

what did Jesus teach about hell?

how can learning the truth about hell affect us?

to what was Jesus referring when he spoke of a persons being thrown into hell?

is the eternal fire Jesus warned of literal, or symbolic?

in what sense do the wicked go off to eternal punishment?

so do you think the bible teaches that people will burn forever in hell?because many people are told that by their religious leaders. but is that what the bible REALLY teaches ?

and yes i am one of the over seven million Jehovahs witnesses :)

Should one fear hell? Hell no.:D earl
:) its surprising how many religious people are taught to be in fear of hell ,

i know someone who is now studying the bible with Jehovahs witnesses,
and before they started looking into what the bible REALLY taught, they used to go to a church near them , and the religious leaders of that church said to them if you dont get baptized you will go to hell and burn for ever

can you believe it

so i agree with you ....... should you fear hell ? HELL NO .

its better to learn about what the bible REALLY TEACHES then they will not be in fear of hell any longer.:)

lol are you asking these questions out of genuine interest about others beliefs? Or to shoot them down and talk at them? Just curious...
:) now i know by now , that you must know that i love to focus on what the bible REALLY TEACHES .

so do you believe that the God of the bible would sent people to burn forever in a fire?

and i think its a case of the bible itself shooting people down . not mee

Praise god we have you here with all the answers! :D Although I find it 'funny' how you use so many question marks.... heh.

--EDIT--
No it is just (in honesty) annoying somtimes to see your threads, because this being an INTERFAITH forum it is cool to share and learn about others and their ways and cultures... That is the purpose of this site... Not for a know it all to be passive-aggressive pushing their faith onto another not really interested in learning about other faiths and such :/ ... Nevermind forget it... Will just get a watchtower copy and paste....

And to answer your question no, I don't believe in hell lol...

Your opinion of the bible is what shoots them down, not the bible. :)

HMMMM interesting

well you know what the bible says at ,hebrews 4;12
For the word of God is alive and exerts power and is sharper than any two-edged sword and pierces even to the dividing of soul and spirit, and of joints and [their] marrow, and [is] able to discern thoughts and intentions of [the] heart.

Paul showed how deeply the Bible can influence us when he wrote: "The word of God is alive and exerts power and is sharper than any two-edged sword and pierces even to the dividing of soul and spirit, and of joints and their marrow, and is able to discern thoughts and intentions of the heart." (Hebrews 4:12) Indeed, the extraordinary power of the Bible to work such changes in people is a persuasive proof that it is more than merely the word of man.

Praise god we have you here with all the answers! :D :)

or even ,praise JEHOVAH we have the bible as the aurthority.

All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work.
2 timothy 3;16-17

making known what the bible REALLY teaches is not pushing the bible onto people, they can choose which ever path they choose. and as you mentioned its cool to share and learn .

or are you saying its cool to share and learn as long as its not from Jehovahs witnesses ............. interesting indeed:)

oh, mee PL PL PLEASE!!!! When someone asks what you think, its what YOU think, not quote , paste etc..... Im sorry, Mee, its like when a politician gets asked a really important question (that they dont know how to answer) and they talk a lot , say a lot but none of it is an answer to a question..........
(sorry, I just HAD to put it my opinion).
and about Hell, well, for me, I dont know. But what I do know is that we each have the power to make our lives hell or heaven. Its up to us and how we handle the little hiccups that life throws our way............ (IMHO).

:) i like to think , that i think inline with the bible , thats what i think ;) there is no better way to think

:) so then, getting back to that hell subject .

how is it possible for people to suffer forever in a burning place when they die , because according to the bible when a person dies they are not aware of any thing at all .

For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all,

(Lit., "and the dead ones, they are not knowing anything." Heb., weham·me·thim´ ’eh·nam´ yoh·dhe‛im´ me’u´mah.)

ecclesiates 9;5

To me "Hell" is separation from God, could be in the "now" or after death who knows! The Bible makes indications that Hell is separation from God. Getting toasted in Hell by flames, literally, is just unrealistic to me.
Nobody has the right to say to another "you are going to Hell and will burn in Hell" etc etc. What give's somebody the right, or power, to say that to another? An Evangelical Pastor said that to me once and I found it very insulting indeed, he thought he was God and was on a power trip so I wasn't taking that sh*t and told him his "fortune"

this raises the question: Did Almighty God create such a place of torment?
Well, what was God’s view when the Israelites, following the example of peoples who lived nearby, began to burn their children in fire?
He explains in his Word: "They have built the high places of Topheth, which is in the valley of the son of Hinnom, in order to burn their sons and their daughters in the fire, a thing that I had not commanded and that had not come up into my heart."—Jeremiah 7:31.
Think about this. If the idea of roasting people in fire had never come into God’s heart, does it seem reasonable that he created a fiery hell for those who do not serve him?

The Bible says, "God is love." (1 John 4:8) Would a loving God really torment people forever?
Would you do so? Knowing of God’s love should move us to turn to his Word to find out just what hell is. Who go there, and for how long?

this raises the question: Did Almighty God create such a place of torment?
Who knows! but as I've already said "Hell" to me is not a place as such, but some form of separation. If you have good, there must be bad, both must co-exist. So there could be some form of punishment I guess. All will be revealed in death, not even Jesus had all the answers till after his resurrection.

"They have built the high places of Topheth, which is in the valley of the son of Hinnom, in order to burn their sons and their daughters in the fire, a thing that I had not commanded and that had not come up into my heart."—Jeremiah 7:31.
I'd call that just good old human ignorance and cold blooded murder. Humans haven't changed much from then till now.

the idea of roasting people in fire had never come into God’s heart, does it seem reasonable that he created a fiery hell for those who do not serve him?
Nope! Not to me. God loves us and wants the best for every individual born in his image. Why let us suffer so much in life and then subject us to even more pain when we die. I've come to have the opinion that death is a very pleasurable transition and the only pain is felt by the people who are left to grieve over a loved one on this planet.

The Bible says, "God is love." (1 John 4:8) Would a loving God really torment people forever?
Nope, see above.

Would you do so?
What do you think??

Knowing of God’s love should move us to turn to his Word to find out just what hell is. Who go there, and for how long?
Already given my opinion on "Hell" Who go there? God decides of course! How long? Time is irrelevant, God doesn't have time, time is a manmade thing and "he" is outside of time on a completely different sphere or whatever you want to call it. So in my opinion nobody gets a "sentence" of time.

My thoughts! :) This is fun!

SHEOL AND HADES

Webster’s Dictionary says that the English word "hell" is equal to the Hebrew word Sheol and the Greek word Hades.

The English translators of the Authorized Version, or King James Version, translated Sheol 31 times as "hell," 31 times as "grave," and 3 times as "pit." The Catholic Douay Version translated Sheol 64 times as "hell."

In the Christian Greek Scriptures (commonly called the "New Testament"), the King James Version translated Hades as "hell" each of the 10 times it occurs.—Matthew 11:23; 16:18; Luke 10:15; 16:23; Acts 2:27, 31; Revelation 1:18; 6:8; 20:13, 14.

The question is: What kind of place is Sheol, or Hades? The fact that the King James Version translates the one Hebrew word Sheol three different ways shows that hell, grave and pit mean one and the same thing. And if hell means the common grave of mankind, it could not at the same time mean a place of fiery torture.

Well, then, do Sheol and Hades mean the grave, or do they mean a place of torture?

Notice, too, that Jesus Christ was in Hades, or hell. Are we to believe that God tormented Christ in a hell of fire? Of course not! Jesus was simply in his grave.

he saw beforehand and spoke concerning the resurrection of the Christ, that neither was he forsaken in Ha´des nor did his flesh see corruption.
ACTS 2 ;31
