Actually, I live in the North of Morocco, c0de. yeah, it is as you heared about the beaches in the South. I dont know exactly how far Agadir Beach is from Rabat, but be sure busses are very much available.
The beaches of the North are also wonderful, and may be more, esp for swimming and jetski. But since you are intersted in surfing, you may find the beaches in the South more enjoyable because of the high waves. The beaches in the North are so calm, and they are from the Mediteranian Sea, while the beaches in th South belong to the Atalantic Ocean.
