Yes back to the sandbox analogy, when someone has created a nice place for the kids to come to play, to discuss, to imagine, and the cat keeps coming in and doing its business...quote]

mee does not stop anyone from having their say , i just keep bringing up the GOODNEWS thats in the bible .

But the meek ones themselves will possess the earth,
And they will indeed find their exquisite delight in the abundance of peace. psalm 37 ;11

and its very good

In reference to the title of this thread: "if i disappear you will know why"

I'm reminded of the story about a Marine just released from active duty and newly registered in a class taught by an avowed Atheist. The teacher shocked several of his students when he flatly stated he was going to prove there was no God. Addressing the ceiling he shouted: “God, if you are real, then I want you to knock me off this platform. I’ll give you 15 minutes!”
The lecture room fell silent. You could have heard a pin fall. Ten minutes went by. Again he taunted God, saying, “Here I am, God. I’m still waiting.”
His count-down got down to the last couple of minutes when the Marine walked up to the professor, hit him full force in the face, and sent him tumbling from his lofty platform, knocking him out cold. At first, the students were shocked and babbled in confusion. The young Marine took a seat in the front row and sat silent. The class fell silent…waiting.
Eventually, the professor came to, shaken. He looked at the young Marine in the front row. When the professor regained his senses and could speak he asked: “What’s the matter with you? Why did you do that?”
“God was busy, so He sent me.”

Moral of the story mee, be careful for what you ask for...

This is a public forum, not a "sandbox," or whatever other fill in the blank metaphor you guys want to pull out of your rears. If you're going to ban him and don't have a good reason, then just do it without giving one.

All analogies aside, from what I understand, the only real problem here is that a good chunk of mee's posts are straight cut and paste from other websites.

I'd be happy if mee could just write what s/he has to say in his/her own words, rather than the old cut/paste routine, which is not only not dialogue, but is also plagiarism.

I have nothing against the JW perspective or mee's opinions, beliefs, etc.

But I do know that if all I did was cut/paste from Druidry and Mystic Christian websites and, furthermore, did this without citing my sources... over and over and over again... well, I'd get a talking to and infraction pretty quick, I'd imagine.

Anyway...this thread is clogging up the Christianity board - moved to feedback in case anyone wants to add to it. :)

I just figured this one out...yeah the meek will inherit the earth, but the geeks will inherit the universe...

Havent seen that one in the bible :) but the inheriting the earth , well as we all know that is what Jesus spoke of matthew 5;5 and as all christians know we listen to Jesus luke 9;35

Here's a novel idea. Why not just competely ignore mee's threads? That way he'll have that one-sided conversation the way it's meant to be...one-sided...with himself.

That's what I'm doing. Not that I won't read an OP of his once in a while, depending on how interesting the title is, but I just don't feel like banging my head against the wall like some of you are bent to do.

I don't know if that will make him stop the cut and paste method, but perhaps he will grow tired of talking to himself.

:D
And as Jesus said:

"Take a lesson from the lilies of the field, how they are growing; they do not toil, nor do they spin; but I say to you that not even Solomon in all his glory was arrayed as one of these."—Matthew 6:25, 28, 29.

we should all be thankful for the busy pollinators that distribute this dust of life. ;)

Namaste EM,

hmmmm, I don't think it is. Public Forum that is. Nobody has a right to post here, no freedom of speech here. This is a members only club. Where membership is quite liberal granted, but there are an existing set of rules which again, granted are applied in a sort of random fashion. We've been working on tightening that up as of late. But largely if you've been an active productive contributor, you get a little more leeway than the folks that come in and spam, slam, insult and ignore the CoC in their first dozen posts.

So mee, ton of leeway has been given. Many warnings and discussion, directly and behind the scenes. Me personally I don't play in a lot of discussion groups. This is my favorite sandbox, my friends are here, anyone comes in and trys to kick sand in someones face without first establishing a relationship.... will sit on the sidelines and only be able to watch.

Now do folks come back in under another moniker...sure they do, and they make a decision...how do I want/need to act in order to get my point across and stay in the game...chocies...what a lovely thing.

Mee is to my mind not just a member but a fixture too. Even though 99% of posts are cut and paste I admire the unshakeable civility with which Mee returns even the harshest words. Mee never wavers and whilst I think that a fault in almost every regard I am still respectful of that dedication. Perhaps I respect because Mee is my polar opposite? I'm not sure. But I like Mee even if I do not like the c&p's.

heh mee l have an idea! change your name to ..'you' that may change dynamics..maybe;)

lol I'd love to have a user name like that. Let's see who gets it.

There may, however, be some problems. I'd have to manage two different user names or ditch my current one, or it'll clash with Brian who will think someone's trying to make fun of a fellow member.

But maybe I'll just play with it for a while before giving it to me.:)

Would this be against the CoC?

This seems to be the closest thing I can find:

Promotion

7. As a general rule, self promotion by new members is frowned upon and will likely be treated as spam. This includes promotion of own non-commercial websites.

Established members are welcome to share their websites/books with other members and facilities may be provided for this.

I chose that one assuming that the use of such a user name would be of a comical and comedic nature. Lol this is just so irresistable. I hope someone gets it before I do!:D

If I do get it I'll give Brian the password, so he can mingle around as You.

Or how about universal access? Everyone gets the password so everyone gets to log in as You.

EDIT: This would be a fun feature of any forum.

Shame on those who kick sand in someones face, with or without a relationship. Shame on them. Any of you do this to your wife or your kids or the people you know... shame on you.

I hate to sy it but many have sacrificed shame for the self justification of an allegiance with an agenda. Scary but true. We are a very dangerous animal.

There was a time when I was doing a lot of head butting around here. What I thought was funny was people telling me "this isn't a democracy." I thought: "OK, so then don't expect me to use democratically acceptable means to get my point across."
