You've got to feel sorry for poor old Satan. All that pride, all that trouble rebelling and it ends up doing God's will despite itself. If there were no flattery, what would raise up those low in self-esteem; if there were no tempter, who would feel desire enough to carry on the human race; if there were no corrupter, who would relax with a glass of wine or a nice cuppa. No, Satan can't do a damn thing that God hasn't already laid out at the beginning. Pitiful.:)

This OP is encouraging some people to have pride and others to rebel. Hmmm...

This may sound adversary'l: If there were no suckers, then how could we make any money? If there were no liars, then how would people agree? If there were no violence, then how could we manage our populations? If everyone were educated, then who would cut my hair and wash my car? If there were no hippies, then who would object to what I'm saying?

Namaste Dream,

While I have no belief system for any critter called the devil, I do understand the advesary. But like the Christ is also resides within, and presents me, as you describe with opportunities for growth, unless of course I choose to slip back...

You give me too much credit, Wil. I'm lucky to know a lot of smart people, and the above was Quakey's principle I think. I really like the positive view you're bringing out, though.

Quakey's Principle is adversarial to Murphy's Law

You know, I've been waiting two whole days for someone to post a Rolling Stones reference of some sort, and nothing! The suspense is killing me! :)
