Did Jesus (pubh) die for his followers' sins?!

Sorry Taos but I wanted to add my 2c to this little conversation between Marsh and Alex

1 John 2:2 nkj version
And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world.

Someone buys you a present its up to you whether you accept it... either way it was purchased for you..

I think what the issue is that continually rejecting the gospel you are blaspheming the Holy Spirit. But I would think that Jesus DID die for Taos sins Taos just doesnt want the gift.

Jesus died because of sins.
He said he came for the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
His was a clear call to righteousness, yet the people would not hear of it and so his mission failed.
There is only one course for a failed messiah and that is death.
Shortly after the diaspora occurred.
Now reading the bible, the only time the temple would be destroyed and the people cast to the 4 winds was for wickedness, unrighteousness and following other gods.
So the picture seems very clear.
If the people were righteous then the temple would have endured and the people would have prospered.

People get confused about Jesus as they are blinded by the Son and they imagine all kinds of convoluted theories as a result.

Like I said, it's semantics. If we want to be uberliteral with the KJV, then technically Jesus died for Satan too. He also died for plants and lichen and moss, none of which have ever sinned. Or else Jesus died for believers around the world. It's just my thoughts, and I don't really have much scripture to back it up, but I always got the feeling that Jesus wasn't forcing salvation on anyone. He died so that "all who believe in him" might have eternal life.
