On a dark desert highway, cool wind in my hair
Warm smell of colitas rising up through the air
Up ahead in the distance, I saw a shimmering light
My head grew heavy and my sight grew dim, I had to stop for the night

There she stood in the doorway, I heard the mission bell
I was thinkin' to myself, this could be Heaven or this could be Hell

Then she lit up a candle, and she showed me the way
There were voices down the corridor, thought I heard them say...

Welcome to the Hotel California
Such a lovely place (such a lovely place), such a lovely face
There's plenty of room at the Hotel California
Any time of year (any time of year), you can find it here

Her mind is Tiffany-twisted, she hot the Mercedes bends
She got a lot of pretty pretty boys that she calls friends

THC5.jpg

How they dance in the courtyard, sweet summer sweat
Some dance to remember, some dance to forget

So I called up the Captain, please bring me my wine
He said, we haven't had that spirit here since 1969
And still those voices are calling from far away
Wake you up in the middle of the night, just to hear them say...

Welcome to the Hotel California
Such a lovely place (such a lovely place), such a lovely face
There's plenty of room at the Hotel California
What a nice surprise (what a nice surprise), bring your alibis...

Mirrors on the ceiling, the pink champagne on ice
And she said, we are all just prisoners here of our own device
And in the master's chambers, they've gathered for the feast
They stab it with their steely knives, but they just can't kill the beast

THC8.jpg

Last thing I remember, I was running for the door
I had to find the passage back to the place I was before
Relax, said the night man, we are programmed to receive
You can check out any time you you like, but you can never leave!

AFAIK, the only other member who is into ElectroniK music is Native, and he's mostly into DrumNbass

k ... by "all time"... i mean like.. last century...

cuz like, the guitar wuz only invented ...

okay whatever! you know what I mean :/

Nobody mentioned Terrible Ted Nugent??? Great White Buffalo, Dog Eat Dog, and especially Stranglehold...

And if anybody wishes to start a keyboard thread, I would have to go with Love to Love by UFO. Of course, Michael Schenker was the guitarist with them back in the day, last I saw he was touring with his older brother and the Skorpions (Rock you like a Hurricane, Winds of Change)

The soundtrack to the movie Sorceror by Tangerine Dream has some pretty cool keyboards *and* guitar work (subdued, but powerful).

And then there's "Cliffs of Dover" by Eric Johnson, a fantastic guitar instrumental. I never knew the name of the artist before today, I had to look him up, but I've long admired the artistry in that piece.

Oh, I think I would have to include Foggy Mountain Breakdown by Lester Flat and Earl Scruggs (one on guitar, the other on banjo, I don't remember who was what). Might not be Rock or Jazz, but quite moving and artistic in its own right. Any good rendition of the Orange Blossom Special is an accomplishment too.

P.S. As much as I like Eddie V., hands down a phenomenal guitarist in his day, wasn't "Jump" his first *keyboard* commercial work? He certainly has a long list of accomplished guitar pieces that brought commercial success, but Jump was his keyboard effort.
