What is your favorite Iced Cream flavor?

I like rice cream. Mint carob chip and green tea are two of my favorites. I strongly dislike soy ice cream.

I think I've seen it, but I'm allergic to tree nuts. :( The texture of soy ice cream is better to me, creamier, but I can't stand the strong soy taste.

__________

amy,

When I was little my parents would sometimes get tofutti for me. I was avoiding dairy because of food sensitivity. I don't really remember what it tasted like. Wait... you said tofullati. What's that? Do I want to know? lol

The strangest ice cream flavor I ever saw was on Cape Cod. There were places that sold lobster ice cream. I was keeping kosher at the time and didn't try it, but my family said it was good.

I think that Tofulatti is a brand of toffutti which I assume is also a brand name all speaking for the same grotesque concoction of Tofu Ice Cream.

PS I have had jalepeno chocolate which is really sweet and intenes with a bit of heat after. very unique.

That sounds like it would be really good. I read a recipe that put cocoa powder in chili, and in response I tried breaking some chocolate cookie tops into a bowl of habañero chili I'd made. It was delicious.

I have a chocolate everything cookbook that recommends putting chocolate in a variety of foods. Chili was one of them, because without the sugar it just gives depth. Just like adding a bit of cinnamon to chocolate goves it nice warmth.

But I like cinnamon here and there and I would eat cinnamon everywhere...in a house... with a mouse... in the air... under a chair.

And actually the jalepeno chocolate had cinnamon on it... which is likely what sold me...

You know those brandied cherries...

how about a chocolate covered brandied jalepeno...or we could tequila soak them for cinco de mayo!!

What does it mean and how do you keep Kosher. Do you keep certain meats away from milks, or is it salt? I am not sure...

The strangest ice cream flavor I ever saw, and tried in a variety of ways, was dill pickle.

Nothing to write home about, just the strangeness factor...

I was actually just suggesting making chocolate covered jalepeno to my girlfriend, based on this convo. Will have to try it some time. We love hot peppers.

kashrut is a bit more complicated than that. There is the not mixing milk and meat, different customs being to wait different amounts of time after each before the other. There are also other things. Land animals need to have split hooves and chew their cud, for example. Sea animals need fins and scales. If you'd like more info, this is a good place to start:

MyJewishLearning.com - Daily Life: Primer: Kashrut

Now I'm vegan so kashrut is less of an issue.
