It appears there is quite a bit of trouble, not limited to myself, for people trying to access the site. Any direct attempt to access the site registers an error message. I can only gain access to pages I have already viewed by way of viewing history. Even then I cannot access the main page of the forum.

There is something afoul...just what I cannot say.
 
I managed to get here too.:)

I've been trying to get in in the last few days. I thought the whole site was down but apparently there's bits and pieces here and there.
 
yeah, I also report difficulties getting in- I click on the interfaith link in my yahoo page, and it directs me to a white page and then gives me a page that specifies the site is down. I also have found that when I click on the link given to me by Yahoo search, it gives me web addy of something like "preffesionals can direct" or words to that effect, and again, instead of coming to IF, I find I'm back to the blank white page...

I got in today by looking at my history page and logging in from a cached page three days ago... IF is now saved to favourites, so hopefully, this problem will not arise again..???

My sincere apologies to everyone about the issue - felt like I needed to come into IO on Saturday, but things have been so hectic and troublesome with work I needed to clear some things first.

What happened is someone basically overwrote the index file for the forums and the front end of the website, by uploading a malicious script as a custom avatar, which pretty much crippled everything.

The site software has now been updated and the index files returned, and I'm currently going through a security checklist of what to lock down to make the site more secure.

In the meantime, again, my sincere apologies for the issue - this was a generic attack rather than targeting IO specifically - and hopefully the measures I put in place now should help prevent anything similar from happening for a very long time.

Now to get to work on the backend...
 
It's a good thing that the :kitty:s and ferrets just adore their mutual dry chow otherwise they might've had severe health repercussions. I attempted to keep their water bowls filled with fresh water, but. . . . Anyway, the lunamoth delegation slipped onto lunamoth's section to get their needs cared for.
