Atheists do not love their family, friends and pets...

Here you're assuming things about people you don't know, it really is getting in the way of anything good.

Can I recommend putting Paladin on your actual Ignore list if you're having trouble ignoring him manually. You'll find the option if you click his profile and then 'User Lists' under his name.

Okay, Its done. Thanks for the recommendation. Like I said on my intro, I do not agree with this view in this thread. Its a argument I've heard before and I just wanted to make a little heated debate out of it, I now understand it was wrong to do that and this thread is now verging on a flame war, It was not my intention.

tis why I admire agnostics....I don't know is quite the way to go!

and buddhists who believe that there is more than enough to concern yourself in this life than to worry an iota about whatever follows since it is unknown.

but while I am comfortable in not knowing about afterlife, I am also comfortable in knowing there is an overeaching underlying principle that can be experienced now...

Agnosticism really is the way to go.

When I say being a Agnostic means I neither believe nor disbelieve in the existence of God(s). People say your wrong! Thats not what agnosticism is!

When I say I am a weak agnostic I get a your way crazy!

Some many people do not understand the definition of agnosticism and all they gotta do is just look on Wiki.

Buddhism on the other hand I really consider that to be more of a way of life or a philosophy instead of a Religion. To each their own though.

I have two questions for you Wil, that is if you don't mind?

First, what is this overeaching underlying principle that we can experience now?

Second, What do you make of Apatheists?

Principle we can experience right now, in this moment?? That our perceptions control our reality...That G!d is good, and accessible within each of us, that spark of divinity, is there, and it is our choices in this moment, that affect us in the next moment.

Apatheists? I really don't care. Same with the restuvya...I mean sure I'd like us all to get along, I'd love to live in peace and harmony...but your beliefs or lack of them...are yours and yours alone, I only ask you don't infringe upon mine.

Okay, I can live with that.

Apatheists, to me are real brave souls I mean its some courage I believe to not care one way or the other about Deities...

Do I care about deities? Not really... there is a "driving force" that I call g!d. What is it? I do not really know. I can see it as Wakan Tanka (see Lakota spirituality). Ditto for "yin-yang" of daoism. Ditto for "Mysterium Magnum" of Boheme. Ditto for "The Inner Light" of Fox.

Are they the same? I dunno... I believe they are.

Well thats interesting to say the least.

Why should anyone care about dieties? They are dieties for gawdsake, they can care for themselves...

Any diety demanding worship isn't worthy of worship in my book...self centered, self agrandizing, passive agressive, needy dieties are not my cup of tea...

no disrespect to cup of tea or nice cup of tea or other dieties.

Well it seems like most people care... I care mostly...

what do you care? And how does your caring affect the diety? And how does your caring about the diety affect your life and those around you?

I care about the possibility of there being a Higher Power, I am a agnostic.

What do you care about this possibility?

Because wouldn't it be a nice thing? A God who cares about us? A god who if we at least care about the possibility of such an existence might grant us a hereafter? Its the greatest mystery of life I believe the possibility of there being a hereafter? I care maybe not a whole lot but I do care to a certain point.

So, the possibility makes this life more magical to me more open to other things and I love the fantasy.

The possibility makes life more cool for me, just like the possibility of there being a Bigfoot amongst other things.

As I discribed previously I think that agnostic is the way to go...the "I don't know" aspect about it seems more logical over an absolute it ain't possible or a sky faerie, caring, granting, magical, fantasy genie... It is the old man in the sky elementary school god that makes me claim being a nontheistic panentheist.

I believe in a concept of G!d that contains no bigfoot traits

I've often wondered what kind of gods other creatures might believe in if they believed in gods. Do ya suppose a Bigfoot god would be a bigfoot?

It appears we'd need a creature of higher intelligence than us that didn't self speciate its gods.....as 99% of all gods created by humans have human designs...(some are halves, but not many are half mouse half elephant)

That is what I believe as well. It is comfortable, and heck.we want a diety to look like us...

Surely not like a cockroach, or a mist...

Of course.
