U.S. Air Force Takes a Look at Teleportation

. Does this mean our scientists don't have any imagination and they need a SF writer to guide them into a future invention ?

on the contrary, i think it more strongly indicates that a great many scientists and engineers read sci-fi when they were kids, saw television programs like Star Trek (no mistaking the flip cell phone, is there?) and so forth which got them interested in science, per se, in the first place.

i've seen several interesting documentaries regarding various projects at the JPL and Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Labs and, by and large, all the scientists that commented on it indicated that it was seeing things on star trek and star wars et al that got them interested and involved in their careers.

of course... inspiration is inspiration and can arise from a whole host of unusual sources!

People believe this happened? Never heard of it (and didn't read this entire thread) But that is just bull**** lol.
In 1983, the combined RAF/USAF base in Scotland denied officially what their own officers reported about ships landing in the woods on the base...but a whole town witnessed the same thing...

An entire town? surpised I have never heard of this... Out of all those people, how many had cameras and camcorders? Surley someone would of wanted to get a souviener of such a unique event? Is there any film footage or photo evidence that supports the claim? Or is it just word of mouth,

As I used to live in Argyle near the US airforce base at Campbeltown I knew just where to hunt for such a story, the Campbeltown Courier. I searched and found naught. Maybe it was only reported in the Fortean Times?

I used to subscribe to Fortean Times, and ordered all the back issue archives at one point. :)

Unfortunately, think they all went to the charity shop, so I couldn't look for a reference... :(

Hey, I just tell 'em as I read and watch 'em. I goofed the date though. Apparently it was 1980.

The Rendlesham Forest Incident Date
December 26, 1980Location
Rendlesham Forest, United Kingdom
Summary: What is widely considered Britain’s most extraordinary encounter took place between 26 and 28 December 1980. It involved at least a dozen civilians from villages surrounding Rendlesham Forest, a large pine wood in south east Suffolk eight miles from the large town of Ipswich. However, it also gained a high profile because of its military witnesses, part of a huge USAF contingent at the twin bases of RAF Bentwaters and Woodbridge located beside the forest.

Just because it is a UFO does not make it alien.
I have seen some interesting things by the bases in Canada over the years.
We all look at the unveiled stuff like the stealth and such and go wow, how cool.
But their current top shelf stuff is many generations beyond.
They like to use the alien hype to cover their tests and accidental sightings.

I'm confused.

We were talking about teleporting destroyers... whole towns witnessing ships appear in the forest... But then the story switches to people witnessing space ships that don't look anything like destroyers.

See the ripple effects of the Philly experiment are still at it.
They morphed the thread.
