Skipped Heart Beats

How goes it Bub? Haven't heard from you in a few days.....
Oh, I'm just feeling a little bummed. Saturday was the first Janmashtami since our Temple's completion that I didn't actively participate in. That's partly due to my health and partly due to the feminine onslaught that has taken over my life lately. Between my wife, sister-in-law and niece I was just in the way. Well, they did let me slice the watermelon. Supervised of course.:(

Aging is an evil bitch. I hate it!
Sad that you feel that way. Let me describe two friends I have/had. One gave up on it about 5 years ago. He has been bed ridden, whining and complaining to his poor wife. His kids don't visit much. I won't visit. He'll spend a few more years in the drudgery of waiting to die. He's not actually very sick, he just thinks he is.

Another friend's attitude is best summed up by what his daughter said to me about him a year before he passed. "He thinks he's a teenager." He bused around this city on his own, traveled some, and chronically had a mischievous look. He passed at 91.

His kids don't visit much. I won't visit.
Speaks more to the character of that poor blokes family and friends than it does his condition be it real or imagined.

That's rough mate. I know how much that means to you, but hey, who better to take over for you in your time of need than those 3 wacky gals?

I know what you mean. I get outnumbered around here sometimes.

Well, just had my 6 month check-up and for once the tests showed an abnormality. Not exactly a good thing, but at lease my GP believes now that it's not all in my head. They detected a kidney problem that could be causing my irregular heartbeat. Of course, the irregular heartbeat may have caused the kidney problem. Oh well, Cardiologist on Tuesday for confirmation.

I hope that the appointment on Tuesday provides something more concrete and helpful. It is nice when the doctor doesn't think the problem is all in your head, but you also don't like to see an abnormality in the results.

Haven't seen you on in the last week or so. How you feeling?

I'm still here. Given the topics raised here of late, I just haven't had anything to contribute. As for my health, the cardiologist gave me the bums rush after a quickie exam and passed me off to my GP. My kidney problem seems to have resolved itself after being prescribed potassium supplements, but the follow-up labs revealed the possibility of a pre-diabetic condition that needs further evaluation. Oh boy, more tests!o_O

Just had my latest check-up. Doc's says... since the test aren't showing any significant problems, I should just ignore my symptoms; reasoning that, if it was something major it would have killed me by now!o_O Me thinks it's time for a new doc.

I didn't expect you'd understand prayer Wil. That's right, over 2 years now and despite all the medical screw-ups and misdiagnoses, by the Grace of God I'm still here.

Alhamdulllah (all praise and thanks to Allah) you have been helped through prayer, hopefully he can direct the medical teams to help you moreso in the future, I don't think you are doing anything wrong in praying for help, and when he calls your body to end it's time here, I'm sure that if you maintain that steadfast resolve of his power, you will have success in the Afterlife that will make any and all suffering here be less than a mosquito prick.
