Your Daily Rant

A$$hat #1,

Your fire "joke" is not funny. I have several acquaintances living in places that are currently under wildfire conditions (some in California, several in Greece) and I haven't heard from them. If I tell you to shut up, just do it, okay?

A$$hat #2,

Stop throwing rocks at nonhuman animals and the humans doing their best to get them off the streets or are the nonhuman's companion. The only thing keeping me from killing you is the clowder waiting for me in my apartment.

A$$hat #3,

I don't know you from Eve, so don't ask me to buy you candy from a dollar store, especially if I tell you that I don't have any money to spare. I was picking up a couple of sherbet pops from the campus convenience store because my blood sugar was running low, plus it was quite hot outside. Two of the ice creams would give me a boost while being (somewhat) nutritionally valid (vitamins, minerals and protein are in each pop, not so in regular sodas or candy.)

Oh, and I pay with my student ID (I have some money on it that I have to pretty much keep tabs on each week until Friday.) I don't want to run short, just in case of emergency.

To Whom It May Concern,

Didn't you know what a microchip is for? Is that why you don't want to pay the annual fee for it, instead pestering me to get a fooking haircut that I don't want or need? Besides, nobody at any of the salons seem to know how to fooking cut my hair.

I'm tempted to just have my head shorn along with my neck (she's pestering me about that, too...)

Big Brother,

Just because someone who handles your finances works for you doesn't mean that they'll work for me. Their office is much closer to where you live than to me (by several miles) and I would have to take three busses to get there (I don't qualify for [relatively] cheap/free van service due to my being too mobile.)

I would rather take one or two busses to appointments than try to deal with juggling several bus stops plus walk along places that don't have sidewalks when I don't have to (I do that for my Tuesday appointment anyway.)

Just found out that the place you recommended doesn't deal with clients who are listed under "conservatorship status". I've never been listed as "payee status", and you know d@mn well that's the case!

Woman Who "Helps" Me,

Are you trying to fooking poison me? Dish soap Is a poison. I don't want or need to do that to my already screwed up system, especially with both diabetes and a heart condition. If you don't do that, you just toss unwashed dishes in with clean ones.

Oh, and you just put things away willy-nilly, mixing clean and dirty stuff together. I have some clothes that I put aside in a place that is dander-free because I don't want to kill my caseworker (the one who isn't in charge of my finances.) She deserves to live, and she's allergic to :kitty: dander (I have to warn her pretty much every time I go see her that she might want to have her antihistamines on hand due to the trio [even though I do my best to be allergen-free].)

It's "open season" for the one who handles my finances, but that's what the rest of my clothes are for... (it would be even easier if I knew which auto was hers [put the trio in her auto and let them "go to town" with the carpeting and upholstery]. She's also allergic to :kitty:s.)

(Insert expletive of choice), corporate morons!!!!!!!! My wife just got fired 3 months shy of her 25th anniversary on the job. Why? One of her employees used a coupon that corporate later said was not valid for the items purchased. Mind you, said coupon was properly scanned and accepted by their system. Actually, in the past several months following a corporate buy-out, several over 40 managers have been let go for one trumped up reason or another. An exemplary manager for 25 years and in all that time never used a sick day, skipped numerous vacations, worked on her own time and never a disciplinary action. Not one.:mad::mad::mad:

Giving the boot to a top producing 25 year veteran manager over a measly $4, is not in the best interest of your shareholders. Especially when said manager is one of them. Nor is leaving an extremely high volume 24 hour store without a manager and only an assistant and 2 inexperienced part time key holders to manage all of the shifts! Freakin unbelievable....

Very sorry to hear this. Putting your best effort into a job for such a long time only to have it end with such poor treatment is very tough. It hurts for one thing, and it is also confusing, makes you rethink a lot of things. I had this happen to me once, and I hope I never have to experience it again.

I don't believe our best efforts are wasted, even when they end this way. A good work ethic is quite a rare thing these days, surely some other company will see this in her and realize what an asset she could be for them (if she should choose to work again in that capacity). Sometimes these things have a way of turning around for the better. Hoping for the best for you and your wife.

Bites mate. No harder working individual on the planet!

Thanks Steve. I think what hurt her the most, it was another Indian woman that fired her. A new area manager only in that position a few months with absolutely no in-store management experience. Someone my wife has gone out of her way to assist....

Oh, that’s so much worse then!

Neighbor #1,

I'm not either an apartment manager or in apartment maintenance. Keep your kvetching to yourself if/when you see me if the kvetch doesn't involve me.

Neighbor #2,

If you have a legitimate gripe with another neighbor, kvetch to them before going to management. If you don't like it, move to another complex. There are several that you qualify for that many of the other neighbors don't.

Neighbor #3,

I'm a student. Several of my classes end late at night because the instructors have other jobs to make ends meet and/or they live outside Milwaukee County. I have to accommodate them more than they have to accommodate me. Get over it.

May corporate find out that they've been given massive doses of laxitives and the plumbing doesn't work in the corporate offices. Oh, and they cannot use the facilities either at home or at any of the public businesses around them.

As I Will, So Mote It Be.
