Something I read earlier today that I don't know where to put

A joke that is kinda political: the candidate running against one of the US senators from Wisconsin has a bit of a dilemma. He can't ask his parents for a campaign contribution because (according to the article) they are supporting his opponent. He's a conservative republican and they are "progressive" democrats.

I wish that I was making this up.

In the wake of Home Secretary Amber Rudd's 'falling on her sword'/'carrying the can' to cover the sins of her boss, Prime Minister Theresa May (the author of a very aggressive anti-immigration/repatriation policy when serving as Home Secretary), the successor to the job is Sajid Javid.

Mr Javid has plenty to feel chuffed about. The son of a Pakistani immigrant who came to the UK with £1 in his pocket.

A boy genius at economics, he was put in for the advanced paper and passed with one of the best marks in the country. A vice president of Chase Manhattan at 25. A Thatcherite, joined the conservatives and is now Home Secretary.

On his promotion to the role of Home Secretary, he turned to his wife and said, "Laura, did you ever imagine, in your wildest dreams, that one day I would actually be a Member of Parliament?"

To which she replied: "Darling, in my wildest dreams, you don’t feature at all."

(I think I'm in love, and I've never even seen the woman!)
 
Some teachers may find this amusing (it's kinda political, which is why I'm posting it here.)

My late mother would've been a bit amused herself because she was on the receiving end of this (one of her uncles was a teacher, and he would correct her letters to him [she stopped sending him letters after a certain amount of "bleeding letters" iykwim].)
