Members that I Miss

I did not know the term! a verbal and psychological beating of opponents or colleagues; named after Margaret Thatcher who generally carried a large handbag and famously intimidated others in this waySubmitted from: United Kingdom on 11/07/2012.

But maybe? Lol

You devout folks of all variety have taught me that faith has value to you, and you benefit from your belief. While I do not have the same belief or faith as you, I do understand how it grounds you as my understandings ground me.

We all slip up off our chosen paths and say things that are not in line with the standard we would like to think we aspire.

I think if any of us did, we would have already ascended, I like to think a few that have moved on have. (Even though I don't believe it!)

Many old friends no longer in my orbit. I hope they are well.
This is the thread I was looking for and Juan yours was the name I scratched my stroke addled brain trying to find. We and one other member made the trip to see our friends from io get married a number of years ago.

Greymare got ahold of me to say Quahom1 had passed, may he rest in peace.

Q wrote thousands of posts and got in many a discussion, he is gone but not forgotten.

Now and then I search for subjects on this forum to see what has been discussed. Some of the past users really had some interesting insights, great senses of humor, and really demonstrated their unique character. I can see why you miss them so much. It would have been nice to chat with them.

I miss bananabrain's sharp wit and stout defence of Judaism, yet his ability to engage sympathetically with a liberal Jew such as Dauer.

Vaj had personal issues, and I've no idea how things might have developed since then. A shame as again he really contributed to the sense of community with his insights on Buddhism and Eastern Philosophy.

I wonder what's happened to WHKeith, what's going on with him...

If you had said “stout defence of Orthodox Judaism” or “traditionally observant” Judaism or something similar, that would be one thing, but as phrased you seem to be saying that liberal Jews cannot or will not offer stout defense of Judaism. As a rabbi aligned with the Reform movement in North America I take exception to that characterization.
