miscarriages were much more common I believe...my mother (now 93) had 3 children (3 years apart) and a "miscarriage" between each. I use quotes because according to her they weren't called miscarriages then, they were called abortions. She was a nurse....at the time, spontaneous abortions, natural abortions, intentional abortions.
If we can take the Bible and emotions out of it and look at fact..60 million during the time of Roe v Wade...but many multiples of that prior to Roe, and there will be many more after Roe.
The Supreme Court change did not decrease abortions but they increased in 2023! (Oh, and during Roe, compared to our population Roe decreased abortions overall annual per capita abortion rate) so without Roe we prolly would have had more abortions than 60 million same period...but that is only conjecture based on the pattern before and after.
But the real difference in Roe? Fewer women died from abortions during Roe, legal, controlled medical abortions in this case were shown to reduce complications with mothers, reduce maternal deaths during abortions and reduce abortions....aka reduce deaths overall.
