Fictionalize Yourself

The "clan" is asleep, the bones from the feast pretty much cleaned of all meat, the vegetables a memory with traces of sauce the only evidence anywhere, and minuscule crumbs the only evidence of the desserts.

We had some excitement when my nieces and nephews showed up, trying to get in (I wouldn't let them) and my brother had to come get them because their parents couldn't come pick them up (seems my sister and brother-in-law are spending Thanksgiving weekend in jail for a "five-finger discount".) Worse yet, a few of my neighbors cussed me out for not "showing Christian charity" towards my relatives. I let the neighbors harbor the kids until my brother showed up, and the kids walked off with several items from their hosts' apartments, including some jewelry from the main complainer (who then chewed me out for letting my nieces and nephews steal from her.) It's a good thing that I didn't let them into my domicile because we have several antique items, plus a few guns that can be misused and/or pawned.)

We also listened to Arlo Guthrie's Alice's Restaurant along with his City of New Orleans. Several guys are planning a short train trip to get a better understanding of the second song (I think it's a cute idea, personally.) I just let the guys going know that they cannot take their weapons with them, but they should be fine anyway (especially if they use unarmed combat if/when required.)

Oh, Yoh and FeiLong had a visitor today, too. The young lady whose mother and brother caused them some difficulties dropped in. I think we're going to have more excitement with her (sort of) since both men started acting strange after a private conversation, plus the :kitty:s were taking turns with the young lady. They quickly threw together a Hong Kong style dim sum plate, followed by Kirishima's "patented" kitsune bowl. She's also sleeping right now with Nekoyashiki's core quartet. I hope she's okay, but I won't pester her or the guys for information until they're ready to disclose.

RED got an interesting client, too. A beautiful black panther showed up on the doorstep today, as well. Don't know what to do.

Oops, gotta go. Hungry panther is eying a window, and I think I know who/what will win.

FeiLong and Yoh ran into their young friend yesterday, and her older brother's "friends" learned the hard way not to mess with someone under their protection. I think the "friends" are going to see the judge tomorrow (at least the ones who are physically able to.) The others will see the judge when they wake up.

Seishiro has been smirking, causing several of the guys to avoid him. Seems he had some fun with the "friends" as well, and when he has fun, casualties sometimes pile up. Heck, even Asami's creeped out and openly showing it (he never does that!)

Clair and Balsa have taken up personal bodyguard duty with the young lady until further notice, and the other members of the clan are integrating her into their routines. Several :kitty:s slept with her, including a cute stray we picked up Friday afternoon (some teenage kids were using her as a "diversion from boredom" since several malls have new policies concerning people under the age of 18.) I think the stray and the young lady are going to be as inseparable as Suoh and Tiger Lily are. She seems to be leaning towards a school curriculum for veterinary medicine or another career dealing with animals.

The panther that showed up is headed for the Big Cat Rescue foundation, Wren supplying the transport and RED supplying the other needs. Some doofus kept it as a pet, not taking into account that 1) cubs don't stay little for long, 2) panthers require a fairly large territory compared to say - dogs, and 3) it is illegal to privately own a panther unless one is a member of a circus outfit (and the circus actually owns said panther.) The panther and the young lady slept in the same room, too, the big cat on the opposite side of the room, much to the small "cousins"' relief.

We just finished listening to a couple of episodes of a really strange radio show, Chickenman Radio Series. The adults are practically watering the plants with laughter. It is just so corny that... Oh, PtBs! The Chicken Missile episode, complete with the destruction of City Hall!

Gotta go. The :kitty:s are demanding my attention.

Found out today that the girl's mother kicked her out of the house for talking with FeiLong and Yoh. The judge has basically emancipated her (our most recent addition.) I can't count how many scores of guys wanted to punch the "mother" until she couldn't do anything for herself. Heck, Kurusu removed his gloves and Seishiro started casting!

Tao introduced himself to the girl as FeiLong's son, and asked her if she'd mind if he called her "older sister"/"big sister". After his heartfelt question, she just broke down and cried for roughly 30 minutes. She now lives within our community with more "uncles", "aunts" and "cousins" than she could shake a stick at.

She met our deaf member after school today along with Mamoru (our blind swordmaster.) Mamoru has volunteered to escort her to and from school. She found out that, although he's blind, he can still kick a$$ets and take names (her brother's gang friends came after her with weapons, which Mamoru rendered totally useless.) A few of the shinigami followed at discrete distances, making sure everything flowed smoothly.

I called an old family friend for help with our new member (the girl was raised Southern Baptist, and she's the only one of us who is.) Turned out that the girl used to attend my family friend's church and was a member of the choir (that made the singing teachers' year, if nothing else.) We found out that she has a terrific range, from high soprano to middle mezzo-soprano (will help terrifically when we go caroling to balance out our basses.)

Ah, I'm going to have to ask her for her name so everybody will know how to address her. Gotta go and catch her before she goes to bed.

Phyllis Sidhe_Uaine

Her name's Taneesha (it was funny listening to everybody trying to pronounce it, but we all agreed to a relatively similar pronunciation.) The judge today terminated all legal contact between her mother/brother and her. The final straw was when her brother's gang attacked, but Mamoru repelled them rather nicely. Nekoyashiki and the vets have taken her under their wings, teaching her some basic veterinary first aid skills with the promise to continue on if she's interested.

We're also getting ready for the fried food festival, large drums of cooking oil await the fryers. Everything from fried wontons to fried candy bars, with lesser fried foods like feta zucchini pancakes, kitsune and Korean noodles and vegetables for those of us on restricted diets. Taneesha promised that she was going to try making her grandmother's fried green tomatoes recipe (all she needs that we don't already have are the tomatoes.)

The singers have been practicing a few songs, including Peter, Paul and Mary's Light One Candle. Over 500 voices ringing together can do amazing things to rafters, let me tell you. Yes, everybody joined in the chorus, whether they could carry a tune or not. Taneesha's high soprano nearly knocked Kanazawa-sensei out of his seat. Ousaki-sempai couldn't help but complement her, nearly falling over his feet to get to his viola for a duet with her. I asked her to sing some of the songs she learned in choir, letting her know that she'll have instrumental backup from professional-quality musicians if she wanted. Her version of Amazing Grace ended up being a capella, pretty much everybody .

Ah, gotta go. We're having complaints from neighbors that we're too rowdy.

Phyllis Sidhe_Uaine

Taneesha's now living with one of my former next-door neighbor's family. The head of household is a minister, so she's with an appropriate setting (according to their ideology) yet she still has access to the entire clan. Turns out that she used to go to his church, so introductions were unnecessary.

She told us when we relinquished custody that she still considers us her aunts, uncles and cousins, and she'll call us whenever she's in trouble. Wren programmed several of our telephone numbers into her cell phone, including Daiba's (she caught a glimpse of him live, but has talked with/seen him via computer monitor several times.) Daiba told her that, if she calls him, he'll dispatch several of the guys to her aid, including Mamoru, Seishiro, Ryogo, Asami, Clair and Wren. Elliot (the minister) asked what's so special about the ones Daiba mentioned and I told him that these particular people are enough to turn his nieces' hair white and that Mamoru faced off against the gang member with the 357 magnum. By himself. And that he's the lesser of the fighters mentioned.

Elliot had to borrow my loo for a minute after that revelation.

The snow spirits are ecstatic because it snowed yesterday. They went out without coats or any other winter outerwear (barely missed being taken in for observation.) They said it was still a bit warm for them, but they'll take it.

Ah, gotta go. :kitty:s are fighting over jungle gyms. Again.

Phyllis Sidhe_Uaine

Tao just fell asleep. He's terrified about his upcoming college final exams.

Can't blame him, though, since, unlike most of "the clan" attending college, he's still a freshman in high school in spite of his summer classes. One of the things he's worried about is whether he should attend an end-of-the-semester shindig that several of his classmates invited him to. They told him that it's going to be at the campus restaurant where liquor is served. I told him that, if anybody tried to spike his drink, he can get them expelled, prhaps thrown in prison. If he wants to appear like he's actually having a cocktail, there are several nonalcoholic facsimiles using fruit juices or meat broths. The only thing he has to remember is to stay away from nonalcoholic beer to play it safe and keep an eye on his glass. We'll loan him extra money for the celebration if he goes.

Clair had a scare on campus, but the attacker was lucky that she didn't fully transform into her demon form. The kid who was demoted jumped her and, as he told the EMTs who got to the scene, her eyes went from silvery-grey to yellow before she started dislocating everything, trying to tear him apart barehanded. They attributed his account to shock caused by his injuries. Mon, who came upon the scene before the medics, tranquilized Clair as soon as he could create a makeshift blowgun. I mixed him a Black Russian when he got home.

The bento boxes got a nice workout Friday because the party we attended didn't have anything palatable, especially in the entree department. The egg salad and the tuna salad had so much salad dressing that the dressing soaked through doubled Styrofoam plates. The guys had a lot of fried foods, but nothing that required much blotting. One of the other attendees may get chewed out by his physician because he guy is on cholesterol medication, yet he had two helpings of everything that was served except bagels with cream cheese. I told him that if you can't tell what kind of salad you're eating, even while you've got some in your mouth, there's too much salad dressing (which is off his diet.)

We are giving the fryers a real workout, making sure everything is done properly. I want to remain relatively healthy for everybody's sake, plus I don't want them to fall ill (it leaves a bad impression of the host/ess if the guests have to go to the hospital, y'know.)

Oops, gota go. Tao's having a nightmare.

Phyllis Sidhe_Uaine

The snow spirits are having a blast (the rest of us are looking at them like they have eight heads and 110 arms each.)

As some of you may know, we're having a snow storm, first real bad one of the season. We rented a few sleighs to go around town in. A few horses and several thermos bottles of mulled cider or cocoa brightened up most of our outlooks (snow spirits didn't need any since it is their element. We went to see the displays in a couple of the parks and to an autograph session with some radio personalities (three of the signers recognized most of us, and we introduced them to the new guys.) The African-American woman was so funny, even got a couple of comedians nearly choking with laughter. She's just full of sass.

One of the comedians had a diabetic emergency (lucky for him there are several physicians in my "clan".) I wish I could find out what his doctor's going to say about the situation.

Byakuya's a bit more withdrawn, so I'm having him sit with one of the docs. I hope he's not going to require "inpatient care".

Oops, gotta go. So many of "the clan" have questions about some group called Led Zeppelin.

Phyllis Sidhe_Uaine

We're having a Christmas party/caroling festival (Alberto is ecstatic, hearing Taneesha singing Silent Night with several of the guys backing her up.) She received several nice presents from us (many items have :kitty:s on them somewhere to remind her of her time spent with us.) We also sang David Bowie's rendition of The Little Drummer Boy.

The college students who are still here enjoyed the concert, some singing carols from their homelands while we took breaks. Sakon entertained the "kids" with Ukon's help (Ukon was flirting like nobody's business, and Sakon was telling Ukon to "put a lid on it".) We also delivered presents like electric blankets, quilts, small slow cookers, donated foodstuff, gas cards... You know, necessities. The kids were grateful for the items.

We then went and delivered some donations to Children's Hospital for the families who have kids inside over the holiday. We also visited the burn victims, who are out of isolation, but still in the hospital due to how badly they were burned. The "clan" is now their surrogate family while they undergo reconstructive surgeries and rehabilitation. Belinda's been helping them with their exercises since she needs to do them, too.

Oops, gotta go. Frisky :kitty:s are doing a number on several items, including Alberto's small tree that he's sharing with Taneesha and her new family. ":kitty:s! Toys!"

Phyllis Sidhe_Uaine

We're getting ready for Western secular New Year's Eve/Day. As usual, there's going to be singing, eating, drinking of alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages, and :kitty: antics.

Tovarish is in the proverbial doghouse (she escaped the apartment, getting captured by Kirishima as he entered the complex [I guess chasing Takaba does improve one's reflexes].) We're getting her a special harness that we'll test on her with several of the "clan" to make sure she'll accept it and that it will catch her even quicker. Perhaps a trip to the regular vet's office should be in her future, too.

Somebody in the building is going to have a long lecture about tossing electronics into the trash (it's illegal due to some of the materials used.) There was an old CD/DVD player and a computer monitor tossed in the garbage bin, just nonchalantly. It  several of the guys, especially Wren.

Ah, several of the guys want me to help them sign up for Spring classes. FeiLong is helping Tao choose his next set of college classes (the boy really enjoyed them once he realized that there were so many people who would willingly help him with any reasonable difficulty in school.) The professor who gave Tao a hard time due to his age - transferred to a much smaller university, and it's main focus is on farming. :D Not much call for philosophy or higher math professors there (not when there's animal husbandry and botany classes.)

Oops, gotta go. Tovarish is getting frisky and eying the door. Again.

Phyllis Sidhe_Uaine

New Year's insanity (aka party) that was hosted by the students still on campus and they invited my "clan" to it. What made it more "interesting" was when the deejay played It's Raining Men by The Weathergirls. You see, several of the guys are blond and almost all of them fit the descriptions (in one way or another) of the men that are falling from the sky.

There were a few incidents with uninvited guests who tried to cause trouble (good thing I made everybody leave their weapons behind or it would've been "fun".) One guy grabbed FeiLong in the padded area and found himself the recipient of several punches, winding up flattened. Dragon's Wing ended up using her :kitty: wiles on the Chinese man (had to calm him down without using opiates, y'know.)

We repaid our hosts with impromptu performances, dancing mostly. Daiba caught them from a remote camera (he asked permission before doing so, so everybody was happy.)

The "alternative practitioners" did a quick ritual to welcome the new year, starting with shinto (she is rather young, only an elementary school student, not even sixth grade.) Her employer kept an eye on her as did several of the adults. Haruto brought her to a temporary bed on Circus' ship after her stint (nobody would mess with him since he's rather good with or without a weapon, plus the sheep are more than willing to play catch with any idiot who tried anything with anyone under their protection.)

The "hunters" had to make due with reheated fry bread since it was not good outdoor frying weather. Suoh sympathized with them since he adores the stuff, too. He brought several pans of cookie dough truffles (he's so domestic, perhaps moreso than his friend Kei.) Akihito pigged out on them, much to Asami's amusement. He left a few pans of the treats behind just in case, plus a couple of students lent him their kitchen to keep everybody supplied.

Ah, gotta go. Several of the guys are asking about invitations to Valentine's Day shindigs and whether to invite anybody to a White Day "festival".

Phyllis Sidhe_Uaine

I let them know that several drunks will be out and about, plus I promised them that, when they get back, they can have whatever they wanted (within reason.  ;))

I asked several of the guys how they would feel if their weapon was used to hurt or kill someone, even Taneesha. That got their attention real quick. Unfortunately, I had to calm them down (they were very .) :kitty:s scattered that very moment.

Phyllis Sidhe_Uaine

One of the shinigami has most of the "clan" walking on eggshells. He had a nasty job earlier, but won't talk about it just yet. Perhaps sometime next week. He was so  that he went through a jar of yeast by himself.

Anyway, Tyler and America came over and set up a nasty one-shot for him (several nasty fights that Tyler ran nearly killed the shinigami's character several times over, and his "alter ego"'s character didn't fare much better.)

We're going to have a visitor sometime next week. A plumber is coming to deal with my loo, finally. The people fixing up a community room in our basement can't do anything until the leak in my loo is fixed (otherwise their work would be all for naught.) They're also fixing the ceiling because a full-size doberman fell through. Ryoutou and Tesshou worked on him, Dog assisting the best he could for a dog (doberman has four cracked ribs and a broken leg.) He's lucky he didn't fall through mine since the only thing that would've stopped his fall would've been the cement floor in the basement.

Oops, Ryoutou's loading up a tranquilizer dart in his blowgun. Gotta stop him.

Phyllis Sidhe_Uaine

First day of classes for a considerable number of the "clan". Tao has class with FeiLong, Suoh and/or Kei in the morning and "regular" classes in the afternoon (he's still in middle or high school.) He has lunch on campus, then heads over to his regular school with a very willing escort (eight devastatingly handsome guys and a couple of gorgeous ladies to keep Tao out of trouble until he can be handed off to the "younger" members of the "clan".)

FeiLong was called in for a conference with the principal and Tao's afternoon teachers (Tao was threatened with detention for tardiness because he didn't attend morning classes.) Turned out that the principal was new and didn't know about our strange schedule (he ended up calling me, and I gave him a piece of my mind [which I can ill afford].) Things are (hopefully) straightened out.

Taneesha came over for a bit and showed everyone something she bought herself: a Hello Kitty bento box She also got a Jiji thermal insulated bento kit (she got a job as an animal sitter for an upper-middle class condo not far from her new residence, and the residents pay her well.) She's had to use Daiba's "emergency alert network" twice already, and the second time ended up worse than the first. The best way to explain is that Seishiro was closest the second time (the scene wasn't pretty, the only nice things left behind were cherry blossoms strewn all over the place.)

Oops, gotta go. Feisty :kitty:s are duking it out right now, and I need to take my medications.

Phyllis Sidhe_Uaine

Just got back from the ER. Poor Suoh fell partway through the floor, breaking his right leg. His language got rather colorful, to say the least. I gave him my old crutches to use until further notice. It was a good thing that Wren was home (he was the one to extricate the big guy from the floor, sans splinters.) Poor Tiger Lily has been hiding since her servant fell.

I'm going to have a long "conversation" with the apartment manager and the landlord about this, trust me. :D

We're getting ready for the Chinese New Year (the Year of the Hare/Rabbit, I believe.) Udon noodles, fish, several other foodstuffs await cooking, and FeiLong is going to present America's Chinese friends with invitations to our shindig.

Suoh can't wait for his leg to heal (says it itches so [expletives] much) so I've set up a special station for him in the kitchen (everything within reach, plus a chair he can sit on while doing whatever he wants to do.) I've introduced him to the international treat called the puff pancake (he's made both sweet and savory ones.) One success he's had was with a maple sausage and apple one that he wanted to experiment with, a savory pancake in spite of the underlying sweetness that even his employer liked (Asami detests sweets.) We've also set up a temporary "floor" so that nobody else falls through (Suoh called the apartment manager and gave him [the manager] a piece of his [Suoh's] mind.) Tiger Lily sometimes jumps up onto her slave's shoulder to do "quality control".

Kei made some fresh fun noodles without a machine. It was fun watching the neighbors jump whenever the Japanese man slammed the fresh dough onto the board he uses to mix the stuff before cutting it. It's going to be even more entertaining come Thursday...

Classes were held yesterday in spite of the weather here (Wren grounded himself until further notice and the wanzers were out in full force as were the snow spirits.) Alas, I think they're holding classes again today. Personally, I think it's stupid. Right now, I'm listening to the Storm Tracker Tracker report (yes, this is a legitimate report on my local radio station.) There are too many  to count in my "clan".

Most of the :kitty:s are staying in, the Siberians, Maine Coons and Norwegian Forests are the only ones going out, and not for long. They are smarter than a lot of humans. They are locating hiding places for the Super Bowl since several of my neighbors are holding parties. As I said, they're smarter than a lot of humans...

Oops, gotta go. The "clan" demands my attention.

Everybody's stuck at home because practically everything's closed due to the weather. The wanzer pilots are the only ones going out, and that's just to help get people out (most of them are idjits who decided to go out without adequate transportation, but there are the occasional drivers who were driving adequate four wheel drive vehicles that were just unlucky.)

We heard from an old "friend" of ours. Seems he wanted someone/anyone in the "clan" to give him an alibi. The consensus is **** no! If one of us actually did see him, no problem, but we didn't. Seems that he lit up a reefer on a county bus, causing no end of trouble. Heck, if Asami, who is a chain smoker of Dunhills, won't light up his cigarettes on the bus, the a$$tard can wait to light up his joint.

Well, I have to go. We have another influx of :kitty:s who came in from the hazardous weather. RED and Nekoyashiki are running around like chickens with their heads cut off, and they want my assistance.

Phyllis Sidhe_Uaine

Countdown to Insanity, aka Countdown to Kickoff. Such a big todo for a bloody game. I told the guys that I'll care if and only if the fate of the world depends on who wins. I feel the same way about all sporting events, so any loan sharks and/or gamblers can just forget about asking me for a wager one way or the other.

Several guys scratched my name off of their lists to hit up for a side bet.

We're planning to get some grocery shopping and laundry done during the game (I hope we avoid "celebrants" and "celebrations".) Suoh's accompanying me ("Thank you for inviting me with my broken leg. I am going - what do you call it? - stir crazy.") I'm going to walk a bit slower than usual so he can keep up with me. We'll borrow one of the electric scooter carts so he won't be on his good leg too much (stick his crutches in the cart, and just drive through the store.) He told me that he has a whole new appreciation for me (he knows about my 2004 injuries and initially kinda "poo-poo"ed the logistics I undergone for simple stuff like "personal business"...) He only injured one leg and has to rethink his "loo etiquette". He dreads the thought of having to deal with both legs out of commission...

The new :kitty:s seem to be staying, increasing the cattery again. Several seem to know what it's like to live inside a comfortable home, so I dread the idea that they were "thrown-outs" or that they were foreclosure :kitty:s. I'm going to give the animal shelters a call Monday to let them know that we've got some good :kitty:s for good homes.

Gotta go. Frisky :kitty:s getting into pawsicuffs...

Phyllis Sidhe_Uaine

Suoh had an "interesting" run-in with a Tea Party member. The other guy was getting in the big guy's face. Suoh took a page from my personal "how to deal with a PitA" virtual book, although he has an easier time pretending he doesn't understand the irritant (he's obviously Japanese, although he's not as obviously Japanese as Ranmaru, who goes around in traditional clothes as much as possible, including fundoshi.) Suoh just switched straight into his dialect of Japanese (I'm not sure if it was Kansai or one of the others), not even batting an eye. One of the employees from the store who is also fluent in Japanese started "translating" for Suoh until the big guy explained what he was doing, then she got into the spirit of the "game".

Suoh ended up getting a "party platter" of freshly rolled sushi as a thank you from the young lady and a coworker (they paid for it themselves.) Asami's only reaction was a raised eyebrow.

The "clan" participated in the protests last Wednesday (one of Tao's teachers had the class come, and Tao invited anybody who wanted to come, which was practically everybody) and most stayed until yesterday (I only stayed Wednesday, but I may return sometime this week, but I'm not sure due to Tovarish being home.) I wish there would be another group who would present a reasonable solution for everybody involved in spite of what Walker says.

Ah, gotta go. We're making bento boxes for every "clan" member in Madison so we don't tax their resources. "Okay, okay! I'm coming! I know you guys like my homemade spinach calzones and the two different soups I introduced you to! Sheesh!"

Phyllis Sidhe_Uaine

Wren has been rather busy shuttling people to and from Madison as well as bento boxes. He's also been helping with Madison pizza deliveries to the protests (which they were really grateful for.) Heck, the pizzas that were donated have been from several different people, including someone from fooking Iceland for G!ddess's sake!

The protests have gotten ridiculous. Heck, Walker received a prank call from an anti-Walker person, posing as one of the billionaire brothers who "donated" to Walker's campaigns (Walker disclosed everything to "Koch", and much of what he said is illegal at the very least.) Personally, I want to do something, but I won't because I could end up arrested for slander, but it has to do with the brothers (not the Kuba brothers.)

I've talked with several people about the bill outside of the protests, and most of them have changed their minds about which side they're on. One lady found out that several measures aren't tied to unions but to state-run health insurance and to the sale of power plants to "private corporations" and she immediately jumped to the conclusion that the main corporation in the running would be under the brothers' "umbrella".

I might go back to Madison later, but don't quote me here. Tovarish still needs me.

Speak of the devil, gotta go.
