Fictionalize Yourself

Wren and Nova had to do an emergency flight (idjits at Summerfest couldn't understand why alcohol/drugs don't mix well with huge crowds.) Oh, and Mieu had to work on a child that ran into the street, falling under the bus we were on (she'll survive, but the child's mother won't be happy at what saved her child's life (plus this wasn't the first time the child ended up in the street in that particular neighborhood [the police have a huge file on the mother from what I understand].) Just because there's a hospital across the street doesn't mean that you can let your child run willy-nilly, especially if there's the possibility of emergency vehicles coming through!

Oh, and everybody's helping me look for new lodgings. Looks like I might do better with a two bedroom apartment rather than a one bedroom (rent-wise.) Several of "the clan" have "suggested" that I go and pick up some applications from a particular agency here in town (just make sure that I don't mention everything I'm moving in with, especially Kuma!) Hopefully, if/when I move, the "Grand Central Station" aspect of my current abode will follow me because not many people can deal with having visitors from other Universes pop in at 2 am.

Oops, gotta go. I was just given the 20 minute notice.

Going home last night was a real trip in more ways than one.

"Why?" you ask?

Well, it all started with getting on the bus. Almost all of the seats were taken by college kids, including the seats that are reserved for elderly/disabled people (and before anyone asks, none of the kids sitting there were either.) Our resident blind swordsman had to find somewhere else to sit, which was ridiculous imho.) Worse, though, was the fact that the front was crowded with said kids, plus the back part of the bus had several underage drunks pestering the driver to hurry up to the music festival (they just had to be at the mainstage concert on time, no matter what.)

Fast forward several stops. The bus driver had to quickly avoid a car that ran a traffic light, causing several of the kids to fall over, including a young blonde that was sitting on the barrier between the upper portion of the bus and the lower portion, facing the rear of the bus. You guessed it, her back and her neck were involved. Tesshou (our "perfect pitch" vet) heard something happen, which he brought to Mieu's attention. Unfortunately, Unohana overheard the vet and asked if they would require her assistance. Luckily, Mieu suggested that the shinigami healer might be helpful looking after other possible victims.

Anyway, Wren went outside the bus to transform into his helicopter form, with both Nova and Major Honda acting as co-copilots (when the helicopter's pilot is the helicopter...) It took them longer to get the victim ready for transport than it took Wren to get her to the best spinal injury hospital in Milwaukee (with Nova's help, of course.) Oh, and from what I heard between Mieu and the victim, the victim kept telling Mieu that she was wiggling her toes, but there wasn't even the slightest trace of movement (which is hard to hide when wearing "flip-flops".) I hope it isn't permanent.

Oh, and we got home a tad late, but nobody minded since we all got home in one piece.

Oops. The :kitty: delegation's looking at me in the "We're hungry. You're late. Get moving." way, and Kuma's also looking like he's about to do a raid himself.

Everybody had a blast Wednesday (unfortunately at my expense.) Suoh started with a Door County Fish Boil (complete with kerosene []) and Yogi somehow managed to find several yellow watermelons to go along with fresh strawberry salads he helped organize preparation. Nora the Neko learned to stay several feet away from any boils, especially if Suoh's the one doing said cooking (luckily the :kitty: was unscathed, just spooked enough to tree himself.)

Alas, there were other people around that couldn't figure out why we didn't invite them or let them know it was a "special day" for me (I prefer to keep things private/on the hush-hush.) The :kitty: delegation was helpful in lowering my blood pressure (you can't stay in "I'm going to strangle them with their own small intestine" mode when several cute :kitty:s go into "play" mode for long.) It was harder for the :kitty:s when a few of my neighbors came over, plowed from their alcoholic beverages (they were so drunk that they tried to pick a fight with Kuma, the Bear.) Luckily, I'm now on a waiting list for a new apartment, perhaps a one-bedroom instead of a studio (more room for everyone.)

Oh, and an update on the girl that fell on the bus; spinal injury that is permanent. Her so-called "friends" have dumped her quicker than beer floats (similar to root beer floats, but using real beer instead.) Oh, and she's going to have to use either medical transportation services or the disabled seats from now on (now she's going to understand firsthand why I was rather  at everybody hogging the elderly/disabled seats when they didn't need them.)

Oops, gotta go. Soi Fong is giving me the look that says "I know you're delaying taking your medication, but I won't have any of that." Oh, and Kirishima packed a fresh salmon burger for a snack to go with my meds (just have to nuke it.)

The gang has been using the campus pool (much to the delight of several students/guests.)

"Why?" you ask?

One word: fundoshi. The gang were victims of harassment by several outsiders, and a certain photographer who shall remain Takaba Akihito got a few free cameras in the process (he's keeping them away from a certain "businessman" who shall remain Asami Ryuichi. :D)

Everybody's getting ready for next semester (signed up for classes, stocking up on supplies, buying new bento boxes, school uniforms, etc.) The "hunters", the Claymores and a few other martial arts adepts have been offered TA positions in the Sports and Recreation department (help the instructors with their classes/students) and the Chinese and the Japanese departments are hiring several of "the clan" as tutors. We're also renting the room for our lunchroom again (talks with the new university chancellor are in order for it at the moment) so we don't take up the entire dining area.

We're also scheduled to participate at PetFest September 20th (since we have so many non-humanoids and we have several veterinarians in the group that a few outsiders have asked that we help out at the brand new festival [as long as we leave the non-canines/-felines at home, since bears and the like are prohibited otherwise...].)

Speaking of bears, gotta go Kuma! Leave that person alone! You're too big to play with him! He's drunk!

Phyllis Sidhe_Uaine

Happy Cheesecake Day!

We celebrated with slices of cheesecake (semis worth of them, in fact.) A certain photographer (who shall remain Takaba Akihito) has been gorging on said creamy confections with the only challenger being a certain vet who shall remain Iwashiro Tesshou. Boys.

Oh, and I have some (relatively) good news: I'm on the waiting list for another apartment! Hopefully I can move what I call the "Union Station" aspect of "our" current residence to wherever I end up (I wouldn't wish this chaos on anybody who isn't relatively adept in keeping everything under control, especially with the current neighbors I have.)

Speaking of the vets, I made the mistake of watching an episode of Animal Cops that covered a serial killer of :kitty:s (really  off the vets as well as all of the animal lovers.) Some of the group wanted to pay the suspect a visit (of course, "packing") while others wanted to toss said suspect into a cage with an irate Kuma. Spent several minutes talking them out of doing so.

Oops, gotta go. Kuma's hungry, and we've gotten the "10-minute warning".

Phyllis Sidhe_Uaine

Saturday ("Caturday") was "exciting" in more ways than one.

"Why?" you ask?

The "clan" was treated to a live musical, and we had to leave all of the non-human/oids at home (for their sake and for everybody else's in the theater [including the actors and the ushers].) You see, the musical was the revamp of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Phantom of the Opera, and they used live pyrotechnics, live fire and live ammo. Animals (especially those that aren't domesticated like bears, jaguars, wolves, etc.) don't like certain things (like fire.)

We also had a chat with the troupe as well as the ushers concerning giving us a "heads up" warning when they're about to do something that might trigger some of the "clan" (the "weapons specialists" were the least of their worries: Torugai-sensei might send an actor or two to Nayugu while Seishiro-sensei might just kill them in a storm of sakura petals, leaving nothing behind to bury, and we won't get into what the shinigami delegation can do.) Oh, and as a reward for "behaving" themselves, everybody got a souvenir ranging from Phantom key rings to t-shirts to CDs/DVDs.

Shigure was cute trying on her red t-shirt during intermission (at least, that was what I was told since I had to "powder my nose" after the "chandelier scene".) Oh, and one of the "outsiders" that was treated to the musical got a rude awakening when he found himself sound asleep on Yamamoto Genryuusai Shigekuni, the old man scowling (I guess that, when someone spends almost the entire performance "sawing logs", aka snoring, it is rather irritating.)

Anyway, one thing that was kinda cute was, when the cast supposedly went in search of the title character, they unwittingly triggered several members of the "clan" (it was 'interesting", seeing several extra extras getting into the act) and Seishiro-sensei was partnered with Subaru (Subaru's the only one who can stop the assassin before he actually kills his intended target [go figure].) Oh, and Deneve showed several of the actual troupe how to "dual wield" (good thing that she wasn't carrying both of her actual swords, or several professional actors would have to wash everything below the waistline. ;)) And everybody got their playbills autographed afterwards by the cast and crew.

Takaba also gave the person who was "directing" the outing a bit of professional advice: never take a photo inside a theater where there's some kind of backdrop from a performance (copyright issues.) We ended up getting our pictures taken outside (alas, not by Takaba, but by the "amateur".)

As an apology to the non-human/oids, we picked up some treats at the farmers market and some toys from the usual suppliers to play with. Kuma and Koru enjoyed their personalized "trees" (Takaba's taken several photos of them.)

Oops, gotta go. Seems like "the kids" are getting on the "old men"'s nerves, plus they're about to close the union.

Phyllis Sidhe_Uaine

Emba and Yuuen were busy today at the garden plots we help at, harvesting some fresh vegetables and "deadheading" several flowers that were overdue for the aforementioned procedure. They got some rather nice Japanese eggplants, a few heirloom tomatoes, five zucchini, some fresh herbs, nasturtium and chamomile for their effort. Oh, and Tanda helped as well, learning from them about the different plants that he wasn't quite familiar with (he might try using them in something later this week.)

Anyway, school starts for most of us next week and we're waiting to get our textbooks (I loathe not having my own bank account most of the time.) I have an appointment with my caseworker Wednesday (and an appointment with our resident physicians afterwards.) I have a sneaking suspicion that the 'scrip is going to be several hours with the :kitty:s.

Oops, gotta go. Ten-minute warning.

Phyllis Sidhe_Uaine

Oops, you caught me. There was a bit of unnecessary "excitement" on campus (the less you ask about it, the better you'll be) so I did a search for this particular song (luckily, we're in the room that we've rented for the semester. :D) I have a sneaking suspicion that we're going to have it as part of our program starting Thursday (ending this coming Tuesday.) Watching the male idols "bustin' a move" is getting me green with envy, wishing I was as agile as they are.

The under-18 students started their first week of classes this week, several of them bringing home the required paperwork. ([]) It took all of my won'tpower not to let Roy torch everything in one fell swoop (he is a fire alchemist, military trained.) Perhaps we should get personalized rubber stamps to help get through the "enuram". Oh, and Tao's signed up for more college courses (Fei Long's already had a conference at his high school so that he [Tao] can attend the "alternate-venue" courses, plus Tao had to pick up his new university bus pass.)

We're also taking over the campus pool after-hours (swimming, other water sports, showers, etc.) since we're so busy with everything. Oh, and we've signed up to help in the tutoring lab ("singing" for our "supper" if you ken my meaning.) We're covering Japanese, Chinese and Italian for the Tutoring Center for just a tad less than it would cost to find as many native speakers with as wide of a dialect spectrum. Oh, and Tooru, our hearing-impaired resident, is teaching JSL to the gentleman we encountered at the drag show (they seemed to hit it off, especially after the ASL interpreter watched Tooru and Tsukahara converse in JSL.)

Oops, gotta go. The non-humanoid delegation's looking hungrily at the recent semi delivery. Okay, okay! Liver Lunch and Fishy Feast for the :kitty:s, Gravy Goodness for the canines, and fresh salmon for Kuma! Let's get crackin'!

Two weeks of classes (some that were cancelled, others going at full capacity) and we're hits (much to my embarrassment.) Several of the guys (especially that devil who shall remain Asami Ryuichi) have been giving the faculty a run for their money at several functions. Heck, Asami's given the belly dancing instructor more than she'd bargained for (and he's talked a certain photographer who shall remain Takaba Akihito into taking the introductory class while Asami's taking the advanced class.) Takaba's getting back at the "business"man by "suggesting" he take the hip-hop class (Asami won't be alone since I signed up for it, too.)

Anyway, there have been a couple of "incidents" already, one involving a girl who got so drunk she couldn't hold her head up and the other where four or five police cars ended up turning on their "dsisco lights" (a fight that went between two or three off-campus houses.) The shinigami haven't had a "job" yet, so I guess everybody involved in both incidents got home relatively safely.

On a better note, I had my blood drawn yesterday (a$$tard left a rather nasty bruise on the inside of my arm.) He then tried to draw blood from Wren and Mieu (impossibility due to the fact that they're not human or animal.) Wren popped him one (I hope he woke up sometime yesterday before the clinic closed or was taken to the main hospital.) Anyway, I missed both my doctor's appointment and my clinic, plus the arm is rather sore.

Oops, gotta go. The non-humanoid delegation's looking at me, some licking their lips. Okay, okay. Dinner will be served momentarily.

Phyllis Sidhe_Uaine

The delegation has done it again (in more ways than one.) New "guests" and an  incident with a couple of chasidim (a man and his son, I guess.) I had to act as an intermediary between the "clan" and the two poor saps, especially when the elder chasid reached inside his suit jacket for a citron and the yakuza and Triad members were worried that he was reaching for something less innocent (as were the combat veterans and weapons specialists.) Calling them off was "interesting" to say the least.

Torugai-sensei was quite intrigued by the lulav as was her student, Tanda, but neither were allowed to touch it (I could due to the fact that I'm ethno-religiously Jewish.) Tanda looked up the particular ritual that I participated in with the older gentleman and was intrigued by the different plants that are required for said ritual (as were Emba and Yuuen, the "prehistoric" clan members.)

We picked up several winter squashes at the grocery store, too, as well as other groceries (Kirishima and Suoh bought spaghetti squash, wondering if they could make some of their favourite noodle dishes using the vegetable instead of either wheat- or rice-based noodles for anybody who has intolerance to them.) I also picked up some rather interesting cauliflower (one was purple, one was orange and the last was actually broccoflower.) Can't wait to introduce everyone to roasted cauliflower and carrot casserole.

Oops, gotta go. The guys are looking at me rather intently. Might introduce the new members later. . .

Phyllis Sidhe_Uaine

The guys are at it again. Luckily it's colder now (I can tell because the snow spirits are moving their stuff here from Antarctica) and the rest of us are retrieving winter gear, trading some stuff in for larger gear, etc. The kids (as in under-17) are ecstatic about their new and/or hand-me-down digs (especially the ribbon gear, especially after they hear about what the ribbons stand for.)

Speaking of ribbon stuff, the guys with a sweet tooth have been hoarding pink ribbon cookies and pink ribbon bagels, especially Tesshou, Takaba, Tsukishima, Yogi and one of the newbies (I don't recall his name offhand, but I'll remember later [I hope].) The non-humanoid delegation's also enjoying dinners that also "donate" to respectable/responsible charities (the non-humanoids eat well, animals in need get at least a bowl of something tasty & filling as well plus the possibility of finding decent human companions. Everybody wins! :D)

Another thing that we've done is volunteered for a film festival. We're taking tickets, seeing the films and "interacting" with "outsiders" while watching said films. I was given the Monday and Wednesday shifts (which I don't mind much.)

Oops, gotta go. Everybody's getting a bit antsy here due to dinner being a bit late. Okay, okay! Dinner's in the oven right now!

Phyllis Sidhe_Uaine

An idjit tried to buy cigarettes from one of the newbies. Luckily Ginko refused to sell any of his stock (Ginko requires his particular "cigarettes" due to the fact that they kinda keep a particular type of quasi-spirit at bay, plus Ginko attracts the quasi-spirits like moths to a flame, except the surrounding people end up getting sick/hurt.) Ginko's cigarettes are the only ones that the great Asami Ryuichi can't smoke (although Asami still prefers his Dunhills. . . .) Anyway, the idjit grabbed one of Ginko's cigarettes, lit it, took a drag, then violently lost the contents of his stomach (served the kid right imho.) Ginko ended up smoking it the rest of the way ("Shouldn't waste it now that someone started smoking. . .") Asami and FeiLong joined him, which a certain photographer who shall remain Takaba Akihito appreciated.

Suoh took his non-human manager to the vet (nothing serious, just a simple physical along with all of her shots.) She's doing quite nicely, earning her a new toy that the big guy picked up (a puzzle feeder that requires a couple of steps before she can get the hidden treat.) He's also making a :kitty: castle for her, complete with two scratching pads, a sleeping area, a couple of dangling toys and plenty of tunnels to investigate. He got the idea from a video he saw online (he subscribed to the Facebook page as well as the YouTube page.) He's also going to buy some nontoxic paint to make his :kitty:'s castle extra special (he spoils her, y'ken.) He bought a rather nice pair of scissors to help with the construction (he adores a pair that I loaned him a while back [he returned them after that particular project, which is why I 'said' "loaned", not "gave"]) and he's imprinted his initials on the handles of his pair as well as on the sheath (to differentiate his from mine.)

Oh, before I forget, everybody's getting involved in another fundraiser as well as getting our annual vaccinations. The VNA is going to give out the shots, we're feeding them as well as ourselves, and we're also entertaining everybody who comes peacefully (singing, dancing, a puppetry act [both traditional and ventriloquism], storytelling, and a classical performance as well.) It's going to be wild. :D

Oops, gotta go. The newbies are looking at me in such a way that says "I have a question and I don't know who to ask," . . .

Phyllis Sidhe_Uaine

*looks up from an empty whiskey bottle*

You caught me. No, not more "guests"; Wisconsin election today. Everybody who can vote did earlier today. Anyway, I dread hearing the results of the election, no matter who wins. What's worse in my humble opinion is the talk about Walker running for either President or Vice President in 2016. I mean, if he wins tonight and he does throw his hat into the ring in 2016, what's going to happen in Madison? I know, stupid question as usual.

Anyway, we broke out the slow cookers three days ago (so we could come home to something hot without worrying about burning down the complex.) We currently are making Creole-style black beans and rice casserole, mulled wine and cheesecakes (yes, one can bake a cheesecake in a slow cooker, and successfully, too.) Might use them later this week for huge pots of chili and/or pasta. :D

I just found out something heart-wrenching: Tom Magliozzi just passed away. I found out from one of the shinigami (there are so bloody many that I can't keep track of them.) Anyway, the shinigami regaled everyone with the jokes Tom Maggliozzi told, albeit not as well (I suppose) breaking up with laughter before reaching the "punch line". Anyway, Alzheimer's is a b!tch. Oh, and the :kitty:s are swarming us, including Nora the Neko (which is rather unusual, considering. . . .)

Oops, gotta go. Kuma's being harassed by one of the neighbors, and the bear was preparing himself for hibernation. . .

Phyllis Sidhe_Uaine

Another day, another joint (not building/joint.)

I can't believe how stupid some humans can be, especially around certain humanoids. Miew was minding her own business when one of the other passengers groped her on the freakin' bus! She broke his jaw and gave him a concussion (gave him a right upper cut which led to said injuries.) A$$hat wants to sue her for his injuries (good luck collecting, especially since they were a result of 4th degree SA, which was caught on the security camera.) I'm letting her purruse my favourite websites (she adores cute :kitty:s, too.)

The non-human/oid delegation is getting ready for the frigid weather expected next week (some "experts" are saying that there's going to be another polar vortex due to the Pacific hurricane/tropical storm that hit the coast of Alaska [I'll believe it when I see it].) Heavier coats and a bit more fat under the skins (oh, and the delivery guy from the pet store's bringing in another semi to aid in the accumulation of aforementioned life-saving fat.) Nekoyashiki is making a traditional Japanese tea for said driver to help keep him warm during said delivery and is presenting him with a large thermos bottle filled with hot tea to drink the rest of the day/fill with his preferred hot beverage(s).

Oops, gotta go. shinigami (Don't ask why I'm required to go.)

Phyllis Sidhe_Uaine

The veterans are enjoying the day as much as they can, especially Seya. He's been talking with some of the veterans on campus, reliving some of the battles he was in (no, he didn't specify where and when he fought [felt they might think he was crazy or something].) He shared a traditional tea with several of the other students, his companion pouring (Seya's "visually impaired", to be "PC".)

I made macaroni and cheese with a twist: vegetarian "ground beef". :D We're having it for dinner tonight. We're also practicing for what some call a "flash mob" tomorrow or Thursday. Everybody wants to use ELO's All Over the World as the theme music. Some of "the clan" want me to kinda start them off (don't know if I want to or not, especially with the two left feet I've got. . .) Everybody's got their assignments, whether it's security, audio, herding :kitty:s (yeah, Keigo []) and coordinating with the faculty and staff on campus.

We're also going to a free movie that the Women's Resource Center's presenting in coordination with the American Indian Students Association (there was a "request" [read: demand] for fry bread by practically everybody.) Emba and Yuuen are bringing some traditional-style meats and vegetables (cooked elsewhere since I prefer not to use any of my cookware for meat products.)

Ah, I almost forgot something. "The clan" is going to be at the Folk Fair again this year, some camping out with the reenactors. The campers are going to stay in the camp in spite of the fact that it's going to be rather cold (I guess they've been around Keigo too much, if y'ken my meaning.) Lucky for them that Col. Mustang is a pyro-alchemist (he never runs out of matches and the like.)

Oops, gotta go. The :kitty: delegation's looking at me in the "Food dishes are not up to spec. Fix it now or else," sort of way.

Phyllis Sidhe_Uaine

The "clan" is spending the night with several people from the Folk Fair (had to divide them up since our group is so bloody huge. . .) and we've divvied up all of the chores between our hosts as well as the required item for sleepovers. We also ran into the deejay who helped us institute the first charity bash for the Humane Society (she gushed like a school girl over the guys, especially after meeting the newbies [poor Ginko. . .] and the photos of the :kitty: delegation, especially Suoh's usual companion.)

We're also getting ready for American Thanksgiving, and I'm trying to teach several of them how to make pumpkin ravioli without a pasta maker (it's not that easy imho.) At least we're not dealing with milling the wheat (that would be redonkulous, especially since there's flour already processed.) We're also dealing with the problem with my air conditioner ( :kitty:s detest unnecessary drafts, especially when it's so bloody cold outside [to give you an idea, the snow spirits are back in force here].) We're also making coffee cakes from a receipt I found online for those with incurable sweet teeth. Oh, and the :kitty:s are getting turkey-flavoured treats as well.

Oh, speaking of the :kitty:s (and the rest of the non-humanoid delegation) the semis from the pet store has returned (he's avoided the same problem as one idjit driver [the idjit drove his semi over a pedestrian bridge, getting caught between that one and the next one, and he blamed it on his GPS system].) The driver just  when he realized just how familiar most of us were with the area and what we thought about his fellow teamster. We also have a new dog in our menagerie: a Newfoundland. Yeah a big-a$$ dog.

Oops, just got the signal to close up shop here. Until next time. . . .

We had an "interesting" day today, starting with my appointment with my "banker" (got Tovarish's microchip reactivated [freaked the living daylights out of the "banker" at how fast I could access my email accounts as well as particular emails on said accounts, even without Wren's or Daiba's assistance].) Anyway, she (my "banker") asked my why I don't try to get a job "inputting" stuff (paying no heed to the fact that I still have stuff on my record that would fail a background check as well as the fact that I'm not really that fast on the keyboard. . . .)

After that, we went to a holiday party (I left my book bag at home due to the fact that I still haven't seen anybody who could/would give me written verification that I'm not infested with bedbugs. . .) Oh, and I have to be home for someone to finally fix my air conditioner situation. *shaking head* They won't accept any of "the clan" in my stead. *sigh*

Oh, and we had a rather fun final exam *remembering the belly dancing routines* Poor Asami was inundated by rather frisky females, but I told him that he should wait until next semester (he might have to carry pepper spray.)  Takaba took several photos of the dancers in their outfits (he's hoping he doesn't have to put on all of the stuff that the female dancers did, but Asami just smirked.)

One of the audience members was one of my meditation instructors (I thought I remembered her, and she verified it as I was getting a cup of water.) She was grateful that I brought fresh carrots as a snack, and that I reminded her about using citrus pith to represent "bitter" if/when she forgets to bring something else for her meditation class.

Speaking of classes, we're all signed up for the spring semester, hoping that none of our classes are going to be cancelled (again.) I'm not counting my chickens before they hatch this time (just in case.)

Oops, gotta go. Koru's looking at one of the transients that loves to spend time on campus and his tail is in the "I spot my prey and I'm going to take it down" position.

*whistles in tune* Oh, you caught me. I need to do this because the snow spirits are driving me nucking futs (the weather is very much to their liking, with temperatures around 2 F., wind chills around -35 F.) Most of the non-human/oid delegation is hibernating, curled up in makeshift lairs with thick blankets/throws/afghans/etc. insulating them from the bitter cold (which reminds me: we have a special room for the stray/feral population that we're fostering over the bitter winter, which several members of RED are more than happy to assist me with.)

Oops, gotta go. We're about to be kicked out of the computer lab into the cold. :(

Phyllis Sidhe_Uaine

Oops, you caught me.

Ah, what a week it has been so far, ranging from a rather interesting trip from one of my doctor's appointments (we're going to get a phone call from the DA in the near future I think due to another passenger who slipped on the bus, milking it for all that it's worth) to a protest on campus last night against our beloved governor (he wants to cut $300,000,000 US from the public university system [including $40,000,000 US per year for the university we attend] over the upcoming biennial budget, yet give the local basketball team $22,000,000 US, tax-free, to build a new arena in spite of the fact that they cannot fill the current one!) Oh, and said governor seems to be eyeing the White House, in spite of the fact that he promised that he would resign from his current post if he planned on trying for a national office (then, again, he promised to resign if he couldn't fulfill certain other promises [which, as most of you well know, he's reneged on several times.])

I wish he would use the funds allocated for his pet projects and/or his possible presidential campaign instead of the funds allocated for higher education, as do the majority of the human/oid members of "the clan" since sports are pretty much entertainment (not requiring advanced knowledge,) whereas engineering, architecture, medicine, etc. kinda does (I wouldn't want to be scheduled for major surgery and have the surgical staff operating on me only have the equivalent of a high school diploma if y'ken my meaning.) It has gotten to the point that I'm thinking about becoming an ex-patriot if Walker does end up as president (I have several countries that interest me at the moment, albeit not in the Middle East [NZ, Switzerland, Japan. . .].) We'll just have to figure out how to bring the non-human/oid delegation with us ( :kitty:s, dogs, a bear or two. . . .)

Oops, gotta go. Several of the guys are looking at me in the "If you don't go eat something, things are going to get a bit rough for you," way.

You caught me (or is it us) again. Some of us are doing our homework and others are relaxing after a rather long day, especially those of us who aren't that fond of cold weather. *glares at the snow spirits*

We had some excitement near the apartment complex. Seems that there were a few "kids" that didn't believe that they could be busted for underage drinking and/or passing around certain "questionable pharmaceuticals" (one "kid" is going to spend quite a bit of time for said spiking drinks, plus he's been expelled from school before he even reached his senior year.) Everybody at that party was lucky that they didn't have a visit from one of the shinigami (they only "visit" when someone has died, whether from natural causes or otherwise.) Why is it that people do such stupid things, either contributing to or going about death on their own?

Oops, speaking of shinigami, Soi Fong is looking at me, so I gotta go.
