28. Furthermore, since they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, he gave them over to a depraved mind, to do what ought not to be done.

Erm, what's this thread about?

Jesus was a terrorist? Well you know, given the political climate in America over the past 6-7 years (feels like it is changing a bit now), I betcha if a radical like Jesus popped up and started dissin' the money-changers, he'd be under suspicion. Maybe not labeled a terrorist, but certainly not appreciated by Bush et al. Kinda ironic, huh?

Yeah, Paul was just recalling his younger years too. Funny how a guy writes some things in a letter to the Romans never realizing that people would put it in a book and stamp Holy Bible on it.

No, I didn't sidestep the issue because what I said is the heart of the equation. The reason why this world hasn't been morassed into complete depravity and gross sin is because the Spirit of God is still present, drawing people to Him who would hear His Voice. And the Spirit of God abides into people who are relying on Him for their lifes. Imagine what would happen if God's Spirit was taken away. The world would destroy itself completely and would be essentially hell on earth, for the hearts of men would be exceedingly evil. That is precisely what happened in the days of Noah. And that is precisely what Jesus said will happen at the end of the world, all beacuse men reject God.

You want God to be Savior to all people. But what can God do if people continue to reject Him. Do you think heaven could be heaven filled with those who don't want anything to do with God? How would heaven be heaven for those who do believe and accept God if it is filled with people who don't?

Hell is a place for people who will reject God. Scripture doesn't indicate that there is a chance to change one's mind after death. I would hope that God would give exception in certain instances, considering that some may be ignorant of the things of God. These scriptures suggest that Jesus went and preached to those who were in prison (to those beyond the grave who died before Christ came) and led them up to heaven.

"For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:
By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison;" - I Peter 3:18-19

"Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.

(Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth? He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.)" - Ephesians 4:8-10

So if Jesus went to the lowest parts of the earth when He resurrected, it is possible He might do the same again, and allow those who didn't have a chance to choose God to choose at the final resurrection of souls. I'm certainly not going to take my chances to see what God will do after I die. I'd rather choose now. But I think that whatever happens, God will be just about it and there will be no accusations or railing against God because He wasn't fair.

If He wants to avoid forcing Himself to send people to Hell for not believing in Him, why not have that appearance be right before the guy starts reverting back to sinful ways?When He showed Himself to some people at one point in time, why didn't He just simultaneously show Himself to all other people at all other points in time? do you honestly think that if He were to appear to us, and i mean mankind, that we would be able to handle it? not even the israelites could handle His presence when He decended on mt. sinai in the book of Exodus. they didn't even want to talk to Him, instead they wanted moses to talk for them! and that is because they saw the miracles and signs He had demonstrated in egypt, right in front of them. this shows to tell you how selfish we are. because they forgot his works. it is sad really. man doesn't look for Him anymore. we don't even believe He exists. i mean His works are right in front of us still, we are arrogant. dude, try to understand that if He were to appear in front of us, again, i mean mankind, we will not change. honestly think about it. that is how arrogant and selfish we are. we can't let go of the past. just like the israelites at the time couldn't let go of egypt, with all its food and riches. sound familiar?

but why? i don't understand. silas was the whole reason why i started posting on this forum. i have read all of his threads and posts and i didn't find any of them offensive. yes, he did try to prove one wrong and would get in your face about it, but you have to admit, that is what made this place all the more interesting! to me anyways. i know alot of people disagree but just my thoughts. and if anyone knows, why was his stay ended? send me a pm if you have to. thanks.:eek:

yes it is scary to thionk about impending DOOM and JUDGEMENT. but they have been trying to scare us for 2000 years now.
