how long do cockateils live , ? does any one know , i hope they dont live as long as a parrot, we inherited one a few years back and it must be about 10 by now .

17th is right of course. LOL. 15 years old is an average age for a cockatiel (quarrion). However many have been known to abandon their homes and fly around the neighbourhood only never to return. If its male it should be quite a significant talker, you could teach it some quotes....(just a suggestion) if you dont want to keep it there are usually lots of pet shelters that will take it off your hands or even enquire at an aged persons home. (some over here encourage communal pets) anyway kisses to your birdie. Love the Grey

WHOOOOOOOOOOO Christmas eve!! You know it! come on!! loving it! Happy christmas all! *clears throat* Anyway, I was going to say but of course!!! Shall be a dark, dark day within this realm we know as Earth when -I- am incorrect.....

(quarrion).

As we call um' in the trade.

LOL! It could quote the whole of the watchtower.org! How awesome would that be Mee?

i have had the bird for 3 years now , and i dont know how old it was when i first had it ,but i think it must have been about 7 , so it must be getting on in years now ,

LOL maybe i can teach it to say ,

AND THIS GOODNEWS OF THE KINGDOM WILL BE PREACHED........:) it seems that i will have about 5 years to teach it new words, if 15 is its lifespan LOL

It was my mums bird so i will not be giving it away ,

i told her i would keep it .

i seem to inherit everyones pets, BIRD (MUMS) IGUANA ,( MY MARRIED SONS) and a DOG from a broken marriage (brother-in-laws)

we wouldnt be without the dog , but the other 2 seem to live forever, , the iguana has been with us for 11 years , but when my son got married he never took it with him ,so good old mee has a zoo :)

oh mee, you are sooooolucky to have an iguana. Ive always wanted one. I have two bearded dragons and they are fantastic. They are very quiet and love to be held. I'll try to post a photo of them. Could you maybe post a photo of your iguana. how cool would that be. (yeah, it doesnt take much to impress me) LOLOLOL

Here is hoping this is going to work, here is a couple of pics of Iggy as she is called...

This is Iggy on her top shelf(in the warm)

In this pic we were a bit close with the camera, she's giving us the evil eye LOL

Wow......
did she scare you , LOL most people are scared of her , one time a friend of mine who did not know that we had iggy , sat on the settee and iggy was lay on the back of the settee , i said turn round and she nearly had a heart attack .

she is quite large now , her tail is like a whip and even though she is not that fierce , she can use that tail if she wants too ,so you have to treat her with respect and not make any sudden movements towards her as she loads that tail up, and it is some tail ,

Are you sure she's not a small, tiny lizard viewed close-up?:) (this will probably show that I know very little about animals.:D)

She's beautiful.

I've only had friends with green iguanas, the kind where the jaw bone protrudes.

I love how they move ever so intently...

no she is 11 years old now, and including her long tail she is about 3 to 4 feet long , she was only small when we first had her, but they soon grow, she has an enclosure in our sons old bedroom , it is a wardrobe size alcove, she is sat on the top shelf on the pic, and has all of the special uv lights that keep her healthy.

oh mee she is awesome. She would have to be the most beautiful creature I have ever seen. magic. My son was impressed as well.

thank you ,

when we take her to the boarding place called REPTILE FANTASIA, (they look after her when we go away on our hols)They said she is the best they have seen , and whatever it is that we are doing just keep doing it :)

i think it must be the bunches of large leaf watercress that she loves ,and the bananas that she cant get enough of . but she is easy to feed they are veggies, so she eats lots of things that i use anyway. apples are another favourite , but i do keep a pack of dried ZOO MED ADULT IGUANA FOOD on hand in case i run out , and i think that food has alfalfa in it.

Any way she seems to be thriving .
