American Christians protest mosque at 9-11 site

bhaktajan, you can lead a horse to water but you cant make them drink, but nice try anyway.

If we let ourselves be so frightened by terrorists that we give up our basic principles of freedom and equality, then the terrorists can fairly be said to have won already.

Exactly, which is of course the very definition of terrorism.

Inresponse to Post #60 by bob x:

Did some say "DEPRESSION"?

Yes, [circa 1933] Franklin D Roosevelt at his first inaugural speech. "The only thing we have to fear, is fear itself!" Speaking of the depression and the prospect of turning the U.S. economy around.

But, Actually Francis Bacon said it earlier, about 400 years ago in his essay on "Tribute".

[BTW, "Tribute" refers to paying tax to the King of England.]

Ah, Those were the good old years. Correct?

"It's getting better all the time" --J.Lennon?

We can ONLY fear what we know. We cannot fear an unknown fear-factor.

Anyway, thanks everyone for posting your intellectual bellweathers here.

How about scoring points with, non-politcal, interfaith-like dialogue?

For example,
“Of all the locations to build a edifice,
to memorialise mohamed,
why choose the site of
the most disgraceful event
in history to befall upon the honor of Islam?"

Is it not a dis-honor to Islam to Build at such a site?

More Brief:
"Is it not a dis-honor to Islam to Build at such a site?"

"the very definition of terrorism." ---???

Who's definition? Is it an absolute maxim? Is it universally agreed upon?
Is one man's "definition of terrorism" another man's path to glory?

It would be 'awe-some' if some one could clearly show the difference of the two words:

"terror" (ism),

and

"terrific".

But I fear this skill may be lost.

How about scoring points with, non-politcal, interfaith-like dialogue?

How about scoring some points by answering my question?

The 9/11 terrorists were all males.

I won't even ask if this is the "most disgraceful event" that men have perpetrated, as we know men have done far worse countless of times. 3,000 lives? It's a mere drop in the bucket of what we're are capable of.

So does this shame bear down upon you?

Is it not a dishonor that you share?

Should we take away your rights and freedoms in the face of your gender's utterly violent, stupid and destructive acts?

"How about answering my question?" [????]

**When responding to a question, one must utilise the same words contained in the question**

ie:
Q. Do American Christians protest mosque at 9-11 site?

A. Yes, many American Christians are protesting the building of a new mosque at 9-11 site.

The example above shows how the response to the question, utilises the same words in the question.

...............................................................................
Let us now return to the "Narrative":

Q. "Is it not a dis-honor to Islam to Build at such a site?"

**When responding to a question, one must utilise the same words contained in the question**

Clumsy dodge.

You weren't quoting "many American Christians".

You were quoting one American, Rudy Giuliani.

But I can understand your reluctance at actually having to defend his words.

Okay... now in a second thread I ask the question...

What would you like Rudy Giuliani to say... or do?

Post 41
http://www.interfaith.org/forum/231328-post41.html

Rudy G. never said the quote I wrote.

I answered Your question ---using my own words to satisfy your request "What would you like Rudy Giuliani to say". Those were my words not Rudy's.

;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;
Anyway, no artfull-dodging perpetrated by me here ---just following protocol.

But I can understand your reluctance at actually having to defend "coherent protocol".
.................................................. .............................
Alas, Let us now return to the "Narrative":

Q. "Is it not a dis-honor to Islam to Build at such a site?"

Okay... now in a second thread I ask the question...

What would you like Rudy Giuliani to say... or do?

Probably something like:

“Of all the locations in the world, to build a 50 meter high edifice, to memorialized for all posterity, the memory of Mohamed, why should anyone choose to select the site of the most disgraceful, insulting, sinful, shocking, outrageous, scandalous, dishonorable, discreditable, reprehensible, appalling, disreputable, disgraceful, notorious, dishonest, deceitful, false, corrupt, and shameful historical event in the history of humanity to befall upon the honor of Islam?

My mistake.

I had assumed that you were quoting him.

It sounded like something he'd say.

So those were your own words?

That's even worse.

Unless you're going to say you were merely imagining what Rudy might say.

You do seem to have a hard time simply stating a POV.

I did not author the quotation ---I added the redundant 'adjectives' and paraphrased the sentiment I heard over international radio via the internet.

The sentiment that I heard and paraphrased was:
"Is it not a dis-honor to Islam to Build a Mosque at such a site?"

:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
Here would be my own twist:
"Is it not a great honor to Islamic Terrorists to Build a Mosque this site?"
and
Is it not dis-respectfull to All American to to Build a Mosque this site?"
and
"Is it auspicious to Islamic Terrorists to Build a Mosque this site?"

::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
BTW, If America DOES NOT ALLOW building a Mosque this site ---America will be sued in a court of law and will be made to expend enough revenues to build the mosque 2 times over.

OTOH, IF the building is built and fuctioning ---and IF anti-American military espionage is revealed to be occurring in the Mosque ---it will be shut down ---and the goverment will then again be sued for enough revenues to build the mosque 2 times over.

My boy Bob...... Always says it best *chuckles*.... Take it away Bob take it away sunshine......

he got something fundamentally wrong though, the mosque is not going to be built on ground zero.

Our mothers did not raise us to be that way.

OTOH, Society "EATS THEIR MOTHERS!!!" ---and the rest of story follows suit . . .

I am a vegetarian by Personal Moral Code as based upon brahminical injunction.

Flesh eating breeds flesh mongering butchers ---HAVE YOU NOT NOTICED???

The Queen Bee of Human agrarian economics is the Cow & her Husband the Bull [extra bulls are castrated and thus provide the best beast of Burden & 'Horse power' available to civilised cultures] ---YET, when "She" becomes "DRY" of life-sustaining/health-promoting/economic abundance "She" is eaten by the same partakers of "her" breast Milk.

Take up a notch?? Yes, I do that here for everyone's edification:
"Cured" Flesh ---

Hypothetical question:
Q. What would cannibals says Human Flesh Taste like?
Q. What would the common meat eater THINK Human Flesh Taste like?
A. Much like red meat.

The smart savvy person would then surmise, 'Eureka, There a demand for that meat commodity. Now where to get tons of Meat-Product to take to market'

And that's why every generation heads off to war.

Believe me when I tell you this, since especially —everyone has overlooked this insidious common-denominator.

::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cured_meat

The practice of curing meat was widespread among historical civilizations, as a safeguard against wasting food and the possibility of a poor harvest. Although a salt-rich diet is currently implicated in risk for heart disease, in the past food shortage was the greater problem.

Bizarro World - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Is the world intelligentsia hip to this maxim as exponded as "the symptoms of the present epoch called Kali-yuga" in the ancient writ of the Crown Jewel of the last raj?

Our mothers did not raise us to be that way.

And yet despite our mother's love, our failure rate is so... terrific.

One could only imagine the destruction and stupidity men would wreck upon this world without that love.

But why you would damn an entire faith over the acts of .000000013% its adherents while ignoring the truly dangerous faction that makes up 50% of the world's population is mystifying and illogical.

You might want to look a little more deeply into that brahmin heart of yours.

It appears to be lacking in compassion and wisdom.
