Yes indeed, you are correct in that the Christian "God" doesn't require anything but faith to reach "heaven."
I have always thought the world would be a better place if Christianity would teach that GOOD DEEDS, not faith was what allowed one entry into the kingdom of heaven. Too bad the authors of the bible in the couple of centuries after Jesus' death didn't edit that in...
Imagine, 2.1 billion people, going out on the street and helping mankind like Jesus actually did himself. Instead of just professing their faith to nonbelievers, or preaching to the choir.
Too many Christians that I know just rest on their laurels, since they're already "saved" through faith. For example, just go to a nearby Christian Sunday church service and see how many good deeds are actually performed for fellow mankind, or how much of the 10% that Good Christians tithe actually goes to helping out the needy (instead of just maintaining the church building or paying the pastor's salary).
