Actually, Thomas, most of us understand
exactly what wil means ... and agree with him Whole
Heartedly, because we connect, we relate and we do with
more than the dried-up brains of an old fop tilting at windmills.
But by all means, when one
feels like maintaining that dry, shriveled-up mass ... instead of using the
REST of one's body, SPIRITUAL anatomy and God-given, God-created Being [Nous/Pneuma], don't let US stand in the way!
After all, when you wish to
alienate yourself from God and fellow [hu]man, for whatever reason, that is your chosen - if dubious -
right. On the other hand, it doesn't
make you right, or even suggest you're praiseworthy as an
ivory tower intellectual for your stubbornness, your hesitation & mistrust, your fear of a more informed & more enlightened viewpoint & set of experiences than you have yet developed, etc.
Rather, when you whisper dark things to us [like, "God doesn't live within the human heart, only MY GOD, in MY IMAGINED LOCKED-UP little rooms" [wherever & however you've self-styled your rather dry,
hells and heavens of theological & purely-logical vacuousness] ... it's times like this that some of us wonder:
Thomas, do you REALLY believe that horse-hockey, I mean
deep down inside? Is it really possible with
all those brain-smarts that *you of all men* could be SO, so hopelessly
SIDETRACKED? When will you get over your obsession with cold logic, and REALIZE, even *say*
~ with the REST OF US ~ that God dwells
INSIDE of EACH PERSON, as also [the entire]
Universe?
Your human limitations, your
cold, logical mind is getting the best of you. You have failed to apply the Imagination in your search for, and understanding of
God, Man, Nature, Beauty and it begins to seem more & more like ALL ELSE. How else could a man argue what you argue, insist on such foolishness?
The issue here is that you just
can't fathom how the `Father of All Creation' ever
squoze [Himself] down so, so tiny as to fit within
the very ATOM [don't let
me blow smoke up your ass-hat with reminders that
ADAM is a homonym] ... or human HEART. And despite the teachings of a
Rene Descartes, who told your COLD REASONing sort
four centuries ago just how and
where the very
Thread of Life, of God and [Heavenly] wife is *attached* in your
heart (echoing, as all good Westerners have & should an
Eastern doctrine, something which I do wish YOU
could [do]) ...
... still, our resident
doubter tells us,
"NOPE! NO GOOD!"
But you know folks, it's no surprise; we've gotten to know him,
and we knew he would!
No, old chap, God's not HERE, or THERE,
say in a Flower or a Song; God isn't waiting for
the likes of ol' Thomas here to get in the Spirit and join the
Sing-a-long. Certainly not, that just wouldn't be fitting, of old
crucified Jesus sad-man Who
- all the while you're busy lamenting - is actually quite helpless to you, on the sidelines, SITTING: and wondering, waiting, to see how long it will take
for you to realize how CLOSE He is, I mean Thomas,
for Goodness sake! 
As the saying goes, even given
two good eyes ...
~ and in this case, an otherwise-functioning
mind...
Leave it to the Brightest to turn out to be
no less ___.
But, even an old blighter needs the company of his
peers to remind him, day in & out,
Yes, God is ___.
