Another Media "Star" Passed

Ron Liebman passed away at the tender age of 82 from pneumonia.

"Who?" you ask?

He was a rather prolific actor involved in both movies and television both in front of and behind the camera. Three of his roles were in Slaughterhouse-Five, Friends and Zorro, the Gay Blade.

Here's his filmography: https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0500038/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_7

Carroll Spinney passed away at the tender age of 85.

"Who?" you ask?

If you're familiar with Sesame Street, you're familiar with him (he operated/voiced both Big Bird and Oscar the Grouch.) Here's both his obituary and his filmography: https://www.imdb.com/news/ni6271206...pf_rd_t=15061&pf_rd_i=homepage&ref_=hm_nw_tp1 https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0818973/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0

I pretty much grew up with his work as well as the late Fred Rogers (I'm "dating" myself! :bigcry: *heads to the infamous Mope Corner*)

Very sad.

Marie Fredriksson succumbed to brain cancer at the tender age of 61.

"Who?" you ask?

Anyone familiar with the Swedish band, Roxette, from the late 1980s through the 1990s (if not longer) would recognize Marie (she was the one that sang lead for the song, It Must Have Been Love {it was used in the movie, Pretty Woman}.)

Philip McKeon also passed away after a long illness at the tender age of 55.

"Who?" you ask?

He was a child actor (like his younger sister, Nancy) portraying the character Tommy Hyatt in the sitcom, Alice at age twelve, quitting television in the 1990s to go into radio.

"Who?" you ask?

Chuy Bravo, the sidekick in Chelsea Lately and other productions. Here's his filmography: https://www.imdb.com/name/nm1934037/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0 (I believe that it also contains a link to his obituary, but don't quote me here.)

Allee Willis passed away at the tender age of 72.

"Who?" you ask?

You might be familiar with some of her compositions and collaborations.

Just to drop a few titles that she worked on: September and Boogie Wonderland by Earth, Wind & Fire, the theme from Friends, Neutron Dance by the Pointer Sisters, You're the Best from The Karate Kid, Lead Me On by Patti LaBelle, as well as the music for The Color Purple and many others.

Lee Mendelson passed away at the tender age of 86.

"Who?" you ask?

You might be familiar with some children's cartoons that he produced, like pretty much all of the Peanuts cartoons (yes, Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Linus, Lucy, Woodstock, Franklin, Sally, Peppermint Patty, Marcie, etc.) owe their "lives" to this man. He was involved in "the business" from 1963 through to 2015.

Neil Ellwood Peart passed away last week Tuesday, succumbing to glioblastoma at the tender age of 67.

"Who?" you ask?

Anyone who is a fan of the Canadian band Rush would be familiar with the man behind the drum kit as well as several of their hits. Here's his Wikipedia entry (including his obituary): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neil_Peart

Can you imagine the greeting?

"Who's a very naughty boy now, eh?"

James Charles Lehrer passed away at the tender age of 85.

"Who?" you ask?

Jim Lehrer, co-founder of PBS NewsHour along with Robert MacNeil, passed away in his sleep. He formally started PBS NewsHour back in 1975 during the (in)famous Watergate hearings (ironic, eh?)

Anyway, here's his obituary: https://www.yahoo.com/huffpost/jim-lehrer-dead-pbs-newshour-181723177.html

It always looked like he had one foot in the grave in the Barney Miller show in the 80s.
