Database errors

How about this. Have Wil create a new account to see if it has full functionality. If so, there may be a way to link his existing account to the new one. If not, no harm done. Just delete the new account. By doing it this way, you can also find out if the fault is on his end or the server.

The website is temporarily unable to service your request as it exceeded resource limit. Please try again later.
 
Thanks, Thomas and Aussie. That should be impossible since IO has an unlimited resource account with the host. No one picked up when I called to ask about this (Labor Day in the US and according to the recording no one is in, which seems like a terrible idea for a tech company) but I put a ticket in and will hopefully have an answer tomorrow.

Thanks for everyone's patience.
 
Still no word on the system resource limit error messages...

Not impossible but also not on it's own, the issues would be more consistent and not come and go.
 
Had a weird one happen today. Sometimes when I log on here I get an odd screen. Sort of like when Windows boots in safe mode. Hitting refresh usually sets things right so I've never thought too much of it. Up until now it's only happened on this site, but today I tried to log onto Facebook from here, (using the icon at the bottom of the page) and got the same screen. Also got the same data limit screen when I tried to refresh, but for Facebook.o_O

Yeah, that's my thinking too. I haven't received the data limit error (yet), but have seen the others while using Chrome, IE, and Firefox so I think ACOT is correct that if it were browser specific, there would be more rhyme and reason to the errors.

Aussie, if that weird boot screen-like issue happens again, can you do a screen capture? I know it will help me troubleshoot with the host's service reps. As for the Facebook issue, that is strange. I would think that using that button would generate dust flying everywhere on IO, not a data limit issue. According to the statistics I just looked at, that button has been clicked three times since March.

All today on the same computer a few minutes ago. Might have something to to with the oddball way I access the net, but I'm not sure.

Have had "Limit Reached" error multiple times. Logging in errors and posting errors. Aggravating is the polite description...it has become beyond tiring. I can't be the only member to have started limiting posts due to the on going problems. Good luck with finding the solution...ED

Sadly ED, I'm sure you're not the only one who has limited their posts due to the errors. I can understand though. I assure you all that I'm doing everything in my power to get these problems fixed once and for all.

Also, I'm not effected much at all by these technical difficulties, at least we aren't all suffering.

ACOT, that is very true. Moderating and communicating with intelligent, thoughtful people was what I expected after talking with iBrian. And I haven't been disappointed with that at all. But I certainly wasn't expecting things to fall apart with the host and the servers. My technical skills are passable, but the fact that trained technicians are perplexed by what's going on is a small comfort in the middle of a bigger headache. I'm happy that you're not getting impacted by the errors too much.
