What music are you listening to?

A PraIrie Home Companion is on in the background.

Just heard that next week will be the last broadcast of Car Talk (I'm going to miss it tremendously,) and the program that's taking its place doesn't sound interesting. :(

Aussie Slang and Other Misconceptions
I'm from the farming community. That makes me a Boggan or more specifically since I've been to University, an Educated Boggan! Boggan is basically the American equivalent of redneck or hillbilly. Bog refers to mud which we have a lot of in the rainy season and after trekking around in it all day we look a bit shabby.

Gad I never liked that song....and then my daughter went to WVU and it was their fight song, their school song, stood up and sang at touchdowns... And now she loves it dang it.

But yeah, that definition of bogan, would match many folks definition of hillbilly or redneck....of.course unless one is a hillbilly or redneck, then their views differ somewhat.

Midnight Cruiser by Steely Dan (the last song on "the list" that the deejay plays starting roughly 4 p.m. local time.) The theme today was midnight, tomorrow's will be different.

Great, great stuff. Glad that this kind of music is making a comeback these days.

52 years ago (Nov. 29, 1965) the Berkshire Eagle printed a little article about two young men being fined 25 bucks for dumping trash. Little did we know at the time that the incident, which ran on page 25, would become the basis for Arlo Guthrie's Alice's Restaurant. Here's our original story from 1965:
