What Movies Have You Seen Recently?

Idiocracy
I highly recommend that any thinking person rent this movie. Its a lowgrade B comedy but it makes some points that should not be forgotten abut the dumbing down of our future. At least the very beginning of it puts the concept into very clear perspective. Its a nice popcorn-night way to put another bit of hot-debate material in your head.

I *really like* Jackie Chan too, but haven't seen rush hour 3. I've got most everything else at the house, I think, including a couple of obscure really early films he did. There is an old movie I have been looking for, "the Big Brawl." When I looked it up on Wiki it said that Jackie was the lead role. If so, then he's been acting in movies since at least 1979, almost 30 years, doing what he does best. I think my favorite is Shanghai Noon, but Drunken Master is really good too.

I took my wife to the movie house to see Fool's Gold the other day, her first time inside an American movie theatre. I think she was nonplussed about the whole affair. She seemed to like the movie though, which was a good thing because I have a hard time finding movies to share with her. Her English is improving in leaps and bounds, but it is still "foreign" to her. Even though she is Chinese, she isn't much of a Jackie Chan fan. She puts up with his movies because I like them... :)

BTW, I liked Fool's Gold very much. When it comes out on video I'll have to add it to the collection.

hey 123, they filmed a bit of Fools Gold just 20minutes away from here. but they decided to relocate becasue they were afraid of some jellyfish stinging them. (sooks) actually it was the deadly irjukangi ( my spelling is probably wrong. ). have you seen Kung Foo Hustle?? omg it is hilarious. you do have to tolerate it a bit but the effects are great and so is the action.

Heathers Heathers (1989)

Heather McNamara: Damn. It's your turn Heather.

Heather Chandler: No Heather, it's Heather's turn. Heather -

Heather Duke: Sorry Heather.

----

Veronica Sawyer: What is your damage, Heather?

Heather McNamara: Don't blame me, blame Heather. She told me to haul your ass into the caf, pronto. Back me up, Heather.

Heather Duke: Yeah, she really wants to talk to you, Veronica.

---

Heather Chandler: Sawyer, guess what today is.

Veronica Sawyer: Ouch. Lunchtime poll?

Heather McNamara: So what's the question?

Heather Duke: Yeah, so what's the question, Heather?

Heather Chandler: Goddamn Heather. You were with me in study hall when I thought of it.

Heather Duke: I forgot.

Heather Chandler: You're such a pillowcase.

:D That's just an absurd amount of Heathers. ;)

"Its got electrolites in it", lol! :p Great budget film - I enjoyed the movie to the core...

Babel.

Interesting format but not entralling overall. Didn't really feel great involvement with the characters.

Michael Clayton.

Brilliant piecing together of a jigsaw that got more and more tense. Want to watch it again already.

I saw Juno and Sicko and Stuntman. I think that's the name of the third one. It was awful.

Mystery Men

The Sphinx: He who questions training only trains himself at asking questions.

The Bowler: I would like to dedicate my victory to supporters of local music and those who seek out independent films.

The Shoveller: All right, I'll take point, you two flank. Let's triangulate.

The Blue Raja: All I'm saying is, when we split the cheque three ways the steak-eater picks the pocket of the salad-man.
The Shoveller: If we had a billionaire like Lance Hunt as our benefactor...
Mr. Furious: That's because Lance Hunt *IS* Captain Amazing
The Shoveller: Don't start that *again*. Lance Hunt wears glasses. Captain Amazing *doesn't* wear glasses.
Mr. Furious: He takes them off when he transforms.
The Shoveller: That doesn't make any sense, he wouldn't be able to see.

I am not the best to answer this but an underage girl has a baby with an underage boy at her school and it is about her struggle to come to grips with it and goes through the whole system of adoption and gets to know the couple before the birth.

I watched this the other day... Had a dream about it last night so I am now sat watching it at work.... Starts off like most, all nice and happy dealing the green, gets big weights, the green turns to white... And it gets messy lol.

cocaine to America. However, he soon pays the price.

the boys just finished watching "Kungfu Hustle" for the 8th time. OMG, they laugh and laugh. for a foreign film its pretty high on my list of favourites. lol

I saw The Darjeeling Limited. It was pretty good. It was more serious than I would have expected from Owen Wilson, a bit off-beat. Very nice, touching film.

We watched 12 Monkeys last night. I saw it sometime about twelve years ago when it first came out, but remembered only certain parts of it and the general idea. It's an interesting sci-fi flick: in 1996, a bioengineered plague kills five billion people and forces the remainder underground. Bruce Willis--I mean, James Cole--is a violent prisoner in the 21st century underground culture who is sent on 'volunteer' duty to time-travel back to 1996 to "gather information" about the Army of the Twelve Monkeys, who it is thought spread the mutating virus that ended civilization and severely truncated humanity.

Question for those of you who have seen the movie (recently?) and POSSIBLE MOVIE SPOILER WARNING! DANGER! THE MOVIE COULD BE SPOILED FOR YOU IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN IT AND READ THIS QUESTION--BLAT!!! BLAT!!! SPOILER ALERT!! WHEE-OOOO!! WHEE--OOOO!!:
What do you make of the time-traveling woman sitting next to you-know-who on the plane at the end of the movie, when she says, "I'm in insurace?" Do you think that she is also "gathering information," or do you think that the time-travelers' game plan has changed? What is keeping her/them from stopping the spread of the plague at that point?
END SPOILER WARNING

Also, this movie has an awesome performance by Brad Pitt, and some very funny lines by a pimp who has just gotten the sherbet beat out of him by Bruce Willis.
