Finally, a couple days off and I got a chance to watch movies...yay!
"Duck" bizarre, low budget, I think the film makers had the right intent but just weren't quite able to pull it off in any meaningful way.
Shrek II. Yeah, I know, easily amused. Still haven't seen it all the way through, and it played twice...I kept getting distracted by more pressing reality.
Master and Commander. I just love this one. Eat your heart out, Erroll Flynn...Russell Crowe at his best (well, compared to Gladiator, it is a close call to make).
And a blast from the past...a buddy showed up with...drum roll please...
The Final Countdown. Kirk Douglas, Martin Sheen, Jose Ferrar and Katharine Ross. Silly old pseudo-sci fi noted best for its scenes of modern naval aircraft filmed in close proximity with vintage WWII aircraft. Some pretty intimate footage inside the USS Nimitz aircraft carrier as well. Looked for a long time, on VHS tape it was going for $125 ten years ago, so I gave up looking. Don't know where my buddy got one on DVD, but it made for a great movie night! Ah memories, the last time I saw this film was in the base theater in 1980.
