What Movies Have You Seen Recently?

It's an indie film about a girl from, I want to say Lebanon, who's the child of two extremely narcissistic parents. It covers her sexual experiences around the age of 13. Some of it's a bit disturbing.

Yes Man: great stupid movie!

Milk: great serious movie!

Gran Torino: great movie, period. I was curious about it because part of it was filmed a couple blocks from my house and I stumbled on it in my evening walk-- but really, Clint Eastwood just nails it.

Oh yeah I saw Gran Torino too. It was excellent. One of the best films I've seen in a while.

Yesterday I saw The Bucket List. It was okay, I guess (but I was with my mother as she fought/succumbed to cancer, so I had a different perspective than everyone else.)

If you guys are up for a TOTALLY obscene and politically incorrect stand-up routine, download: Louis CK Chewed up

Haven't seen the movie, but caught a number of youtube videos...

FFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUNNNNNNNNNNNY!!!

re: bucketlist.
The time I watched this movie was with some very close friends who are both going through cancer...... I thought i would feel uncomfortable watching this movie... They had both seen it before and recommended it to me.......... It was wonderful, funny, moving, sad. inspirational... Just like life.
We watched this movie together, laughed together and cried together. and it is now one of my favourites..........This movie was one of those unexpected moments that we all became closer.....I will treasure it, (and them)

Duck.

Seriously, that was the name of the movie. Had potential considering it was a low budget flick, but somehow it just didn't quite get the gist across...

Also watched Munich. Awesome.

I saw Watchmen. I liked it but I don't think it will appeal to a general audience. I went with my dad and was surprised he enjoyed it. But he didn't appreciate it for the same reasons I did. At the same time, the choice of music for some of the scenes was pretty terrible.

Ah yes, but this time it's based on a graphic novel that was a deconstruction of the superhero theme that referenced, among other things, Nietzsche's concept of the ubermensch. If anything it's an anti-superhero movie. Moore said the graphic novel could never be made into a movie and thankfully Snyder has not turned it into another Hollywood Blockbuster.

[mild spoilers]

Rorshach and Dr. Manhattan are both given plenty of time to rant about the nature of humanity. Night Owl II is weak and pathetic. The foundational values of society and the individual are shot down one-by-one.

[/end mild spoilers]

It's because it doesn't fall into the same category as other superhero movies that I think most people will leave disappointed.

If I haven't said it already... 'Walk Hard': The Dewey Cox story.... Go see it, you will chortle, you will chuckle, Oh how one does larf.
I did. Saw wrestler, role models and step brothers, wasn't very impressed with any of them.

Gran Torino not bad at all...Clint plays a great bigoted curmudgeon.

Slumdog and boy in striped pajamas are still tops on my list for the past year...

You weren't impressed with 'Walk hard'??? Blashempy....... Get hung around these parts for saying words such as these! Walk hard is awesome!

Wrestler is one of those really depressing kind of films....

Slumdog is an over-rated pos lol....

Yes, "I did" laugh and enjoy walk hard.

Slumdog to me is perfect for the western world right now. What you are in crisis? Economic collapse? Take a look at what is called a burgeoning economy (India)...our collapse and economic woes are the taj mahal compared to the lives of the untouchables and slums of India...to me a perfect quitcher bitchin whilst watching the poor kid get his eye dug out to become a better begger on your 42" screen.

Paths of Glory.

A very :) film but a very :eek::mad: depiction of an episode from the first world war.
