Does claiming a date constitute a prophecy? There are many prophecies in the Bible that God has sealed - and each one of them will be unsealed in due course. So, if a person, or an organisation thinks they have "unsealed" one of the Bible's many prophecies... only to discover that they may not have succeeded at their first attempt - does that really make someone a false prophet?

I look through Revelation sometimes, and think I might find something new, but if I could actually make myself guilty of false prophecy simply by trying to understand a prophetic scripture - should I even try in the first place?
 
of course try to understand, the difference is you arent putting out a magazine claiming dates that cause people to sell all their possessions and be preoccupied that the world is ending, instead of living for the day and loving the lord. it is false prophecy to say your organization has a channel to god, so people believe it, then you throw the dice on dates and hope it lands so it can validate the dates you are claiming. not only is it irresponsible because they have been wrong numerous times, it is playing around with prophecy. not funny and you thinking its sarcastic to ask if you should even try to understand prophetic scripture is way off in this respect.

anyway, i was just responding to your question, i dont really want this to get sidetracked from the title of the thread, so ill stop there regarding that.

the bible is full of bible prophecies ,JW dont make prophecies, we keep awake to the prophecies in the bible ,and nomatter what , bible prophecies always come true .

The Bible is filled with prophecies that you interprete wrong, as evident from your organization's many false claims. In the OT times, the JWs would have been stoned. Lets test your beliefs with scripture and see if you are right or indeed believing lies. Jesus once said "no one is good but God." Question: Is Jesus saying that He isnt God? If so, he is also saying that He isnt good. That being the case, how are JWs saved? Let us please discuss JW theology and see if it is indeed Biblically correct.

OK Mee, this is a great place to start. I just want to make sure I understand you clear before I start, so I'll ask a question. Do you believe that Jesus is the only begotten Son of God and therefore because He is "begotten" He is a "created" being? I aim to show that Jesus is not a created being but the Eternal God. Therefore, after giving my responce, it is important to mention that you will be responsible for the truth you will be reading. To deny truth after hearing it will only heap more coals on your head and lead to greater condemnation, so it might be better not to engage in this conversation. But, if you are sure and/or if you are brave enough, let us continue.

I understand you now Blazn. Thanks. Maybe scriptures aren't there to be unsealed by men, but by the events as they unfold around us.

Speaking as a spectator, there's no sense wasting one's breath on a self-appointed judge. ;) Oh, a judge that thinks s/he is "not judging" because s/he has no clue what sitting in judgement really means. One who interprets everything always correctly...the kind that has a hot line to G-d.

You know the kind, I'm sure. They come with a standard issue soapbox to stand on. :)

The kind who justify heinous acts and brutality in the name of predestination and a false sense of being chosen. The kind who presume an intimate knowledge of what goes on within the mind of G-d. The kind who after a while are only too willing to assist unbelievers (of their own personal description) to their chosen brand of hell (fire seems to be a common theme, whether by bomb or airplane). The kind who believe that 99.99% percent of the world were deliberately created imperfect by a perfect G-d (oxymoronic and ironic, yes?).

A little knowledge is a dangerous thing...and this is perfect example as to why.

the prophets that wrote bible prophecy were inspired by God ,so those bible prophecies will aways come true , and the date 1914 was right on time . thrilling times indeed . Jesus is now a reigning king . yes Gods representative on the throne is now ruling . keeping awake to bible prophecies means that we dont fall asleep .
Jesus told his disciples that Jerusalem would be "trampled on by the nations, until the appointed times of the nations [Gentiles] are fulfilled." (Luke 21:24) Obviously, Jesus gave his followers this information in order to help them identify the time of the end, for it is a part of his answer to the question: "Teacher, when will these things actually be, and what will be the sign when these things are destined to occur?"—Luke 21:7. yes in these last days many signs are with us , because bible prophecies are now well along in the stream of time . those early bible students did well to keep awake because now they are understanding more and more in this time of the end. but many fell right to sleep and now they are in the darkness to the enlightenment from Jehovah.

false religion has done many bad things down through time , but those who stick to Jesus teachings do not do evil things, by their fruits you will recognize those men that teach what Jesus taught,........... they love God and they love neighbour also.
 
Jehovah raised Jesus from death, providing a comforting guarantee that people in God’s memory will be resurrected. (John 5:28, 29)

How would it be possible to cover the enormous loss that Adam inflicted on all of us and to release us from slavery to sin and death?
Since a perfect human life was lost, no imperfect human life could ever buy it back. (Psalm 49:7, 8) What was needed was a ransom equal in value to what was lost.
So, what would cover the value of the perfect human soul, or life, that Adam lost? Another perfect human life was the "corresponding ransom" that was required.—1 Timothy 2:6.
How did Jehovah provide the ransom? He sent one of his perfect spirit sons to the earth. But Jehovah did not send just any spirit creature. He sent the one most precious to him, his only-begotten Son. (1 John 4:9, 10) Willingly, this Son left his heavenly home. (Philippians 2:7)
By means of God’s holy spirit, Jesus was born as a perfect human and was not under the penalty of sin.—Luke 1:35.
Adam lost the precious possession of perfect human life. Hence, he could not pass it on to his offspring. Instead, he could pass on only sin and death. Jesus, whom the Bible calls "the last Adam," had a perfect human life, and he never sinned. (1 Corinthians 15:45) In a sense, Jesus stepped into Adam’s place in order to save us. By sacrificing, or giving up, his perfect life in flawless obedience to God, Jesus paid the price for Adam’s sin. Jesus thus brought hope to Adam’s offspring.—Romans 5:19; 1 Corinthians 15:21, 22.

A clean conscience before God.
For if the blood of goats and of bulls and the ashes of a heifer sprinkled on those who have been defiled sanctifies to the extent of cleanness of the flesh, 14 how much more will the blood of the Christ, who through an everlasting spirit offered himself without blemish to God, cleanse our consciences from dead works that we may render sacred service to [the] living God?hebrews9;13-14
The hope of everlasting life on a paradise earth.
For the wages sin pays is death, but the gift God gives is everlasting life by Christ Jesus our Lord.romans 6;23
life everlasting in perfect health, are made possible because Jesus died for us. To receive those blessings, we need to show that we appreciate the gift of the ransom.

dont let fullfilled bible prophecy disturb you ,it is GOODNEWS:) Jesus will accomplish many things and swallowing up death will be the final enemy to go .
Its destruction is figuratively likened to its being hurled into a "lake of fire."—Re 20:14; death will be swallowed up forever
(Revelation 20:14) And death and Ha´des were hurled into the lake of fire. This means the second death, the lake of fire...................yes , death and the common grave of mankind(hades)will be no more ............ that is something to look foreward to .real GOODNEWS

Here's a 4 min clip of Ravi Zacharias speaking about death being swallowed up. Christians will love this clip. JWs might not...unless God is regenerating you and making you born of His Spirit.
